So Crunchyroll unveiled the winners of it's 2024 anime awards, and oh man are they something. Jujutsu kaisen steam rolling, spy x family and demon slayer somehow winning, as well bleach 1,000 year blood war and vinland saga getting done dirty.

Unjustice, just that. It's sad for the creators of the pieces that expect being praised by their effort. like, imagine the vinland's mangaka that was present in there, getting no recognition for the master piece that was this 2 season.

I believe 70% of the vote weight is from the judges while the rest 30% is from viewers

I don’t know what to tell you. Yes, you sound saltier than a pretzel, but it is what it is. I’m 90% satisfied with the results. I think Vinland Saga should have won category of best drama and best main character. I don’t watch Demon Slayer or One Piece, but their awards were palpable, I guess. Even though they only counted the first 5 episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen, they were still really good 5 episodes.

Nope, this was just a popularity contest. The first 5 episodes of Jjk s2 aren't better than the first five episodes of Vinland Saga s1, let alone the entirety of season 2. Demon Slayer doesn't deserve best fantasy because the only fantasy element it has is demons, compare that to Mushoku tensei with one of the best and most immersive fantasy worlds we got in anime. Also Mushoku tensei is way better than Demon slayer story-telling wise

@clydedropout8283 Huh, well a lot of people seem to think differently about those first five episodes. People voted for their favorite, ok? What’s wrong with that? And I heard a lot of people dropped Vinland Saga season after the first five episodes for a stupid reason. Because they said it was “boring.” They said it was boring, not me! Vinland Saga is great, so yes, I’m shocked it didn’t win any awards, but I’m not broken up and throwing a fit about it. The only categories I think it was robbed in was either best main character or best drama. And I already said I don’t watch Demon Slayer. I can understand why Jobless Reincarnation would be the best, if not the only choice for best fantasy, but there is a glaring problem with that anime that creep a lot of people out; me included. So, although I agree about it being a great fantasy, its issues with sexualizing children is too much to ignore. And the fact that the main character has the mindset and knowledge of a 35 year old man and he’s touching up on these young girls and women really crosses the line for a lot of people. So, to conclude my little essay here, it’s disappointing, sure, that your choice wasn’t picked, but people vote for their favorite and that’s how voting works; popularity contest or not. It is what it is. And if you’re going to make an argument that people should ignore the explicit and open sexual interactions with children in Jobless Reincarnation and just vote it the best fantasy because it is a good fantasy, then we kind of have a problem. I wouldn’t recommend that anime to anyone. If they happen to stumble across it, then it’s up to them if they want to finish it. But I wouldn’t willingly recommend it to anyone.
