It is surprising to me how often the 12 fps looks better in those comparison bits, I am guessing if it isn't skipping information and causing sequencing/informationflow issues to reduce the frames then adding _more_ frames just reduces the viewer's own tendency to fill in the blanks in a manner that they find natural? 12 vs 24 stretches this but the fact that there is even a question is not something that I would have ever expected before thinking it over.
