Cid is 100% delusional, however he is also 100% right about everything going on lol A very dangerous combination and we love it.

Alpha is literally one of the strongest characters in Eminence of shadow. She is second to only Cid. Alpha is the only one Delta is scared of except cid. One time she challenges Alpha for her position and lost badly. That's why in season 1 you see how scared delta was of alpha when she gave her the look or order. This is a passage from Eminence in shadow Wiki, "Alpha is the second-strongest member of Shadow Garden, surpassed only by Shadow. Her strength is so unchallenged that none within the organization dare oppose her, including her fellow "Shadows", and even Cid was impressed by how much she had grown. Rose and Alexia noted that while Shadow is the ultimate threshold of strength, Alpha is at least at the level of his footing".

I do love that a majority of Shadows powers derives from his past life & Love of Anime & Manga. Essentially making him an overpowered chuunibyou.

In the manga, Cid did mention that Zeta is the most talented of the 7. She can learn anything after seeing it once and could rival Alpha, but she gets bored easily and doesn't master the skills that she learned. She's like Jack-of-all trade, master of none.

I always assumed The 7 Shadows can be as powerful as they choose to be (2nd only to Shadow) since the slime Cid gave each of them is only limited by their imagination. Nice to learn there's more Depth.

The strangest thing is the Cid is clearly a highly talented and intelligent person. Even before he got reborn he was highly skilled and able to track down professional criminals. And afterward he came up with all the unique magic, and he taught all his skills and knowledge to the Seven with enough competence that they became the powerhouses that they are. So why can't he see what's right in front of his eyes? He's literally seen whole armies of cult members. I know he thinks the members of Shadow Garden are humoring him in thanks for curing them and taking them in. But there must be a limit to that in his eyes, surely?

Their not just strong but also have quite immaculate drip as well, shadow does have a sharp sense of style

Cid isn't just dense. He is crazy, mentally insane.

One other reason why the 7 shadows have grown so powerful is Cid's penchant for making up explanations or slipping into Chuuni-mode. "I read that in 3 seconds" = 7 shadows now consider the possibility of using magic to speed up one's thought process. Or (in the light novels) (Spoiler warning), Cid explaining how he understands Japanese by making up something about "all languages having the same basic form and pattern", and Beta (and later Eta) believing that and putting it into practice to actually learn Japanese quickly. Their faith in everything he says makes them force themselves to grow stronger, smarter, and more powerful so that they can (in their minds) "keep up" with him.

one thing that will always bother me from this series is that we don't see enough of the seven shades, hopefully this season has more of them

According to Volume 5, Zeta and Delta have a cat-dog relationship and are bitter rivals. Their, uhh, "fights" are always brutal, and the one showed in the volume caused a portion of the school to be wrecked. In terms of combat, I'd say Zeta can beat Delta high-diff, and even if she can't beat Alpha, the fact that Zeta doesn't respect her as much as the others do means that she also dares to fight her.

Isn't Gamma actually crazy strong, it's just that she is useless because she's a klutz? In the mobile game, there's a cutscene where she accidentally gets her sword stuck in a giant pillar, and rather than pulling the sword out she just rips the entire pillar out of the ground and smashes the enemy with it.

Zeta is extremely talented in spying and information gathering for the shadow garden. She possesses extreme talent and masters Anything she wants really quickly but gets bored and looses interest just as fast.

I just love the fact that Shadow's word in the SG is absolute and even he knows that. His isekai power may very well be the ability to create/influence reality by simply imagining or speaking it for even through misunderstandings some how it becomes facts. Regardless if Shadow could ever be wrong or right, in a world where magic exist, his overwhelming power makes him always in the right.

what i got from Cid is not that he is oblivious to the world around him,its not that he lucks out every time he guess something right.Shadow is so overpowered because subconsciously knows everything without even caring.well at least thats are my thoughts xD

Not to mention that if you are directly "blessed" by Shadow, you are immediately deemed stronger than most of the numbers almost the same as the Shades who were also blessed by him. It's just a matter on how you'll be able to control the magic. Iirc, there are only a few numbers blessed by Cid himself aside from the 7. Rose and 559 (Victoria) are two of them. 559 defeated 89 despite the difference in numbers, it is because she was blessed by him while Rose is just a beginner. 559 also feels some kind of seniority over Rose since she's been blessed by Cid way before Rose.

What i like about the 7 SHADOWS is that they all have their own personal silly goals like their master and taking it very seriously 😊

Cid actually hasn't really trained delta. Cid has said that hes given up on trying to train them qnd so told delta to just use alot of magic to attack and in the eame vein told gamma to use alot of magic and have her swing her sword wildly

Cid is like Ainz in a sense, both the leaders of an organisation/country that they understand nothing of, both have insane luck, both have their stupid actions misinterpreted as genius, and finally both are actually incredibly competent at combat.

Unless Cid orders Zeta to be the “strongest” of the Seven, then she won’t bother competing with any of them. She only recognizes Cid and only follows his orders. This cat-like attribute of her makes her rank 3 of the Seven when she has the potential to be their strongest. Which is cute anyway. OP but unbothered.

Zeta is certainly strong. her skill is comparable to alpha and She has unique capabilities to copy any magic or skill she found interesting. (she was called copycat by delta for a reason) it makes her very predominant which led her to have such a high influence to create her secret faction. unfortunately she lacks any determination and lost interest as quickly as she got one.

It's not like gamma is weak she's probably as strong as Epsilon it's just that she became a massive hazard everytime she's on the battle field. Not to mention she uses an extremely powerful slime long sword as her main weapon and since she has zero athleticism she just charge compressed mana on her blade and swing it like an absolute madman.

Zeta is definitely #3 among the Shadows behind only Alpha and Delta. In book 5 she and Delta have a fight, which according to Cid is a pretty common event. That alone would tell you how strong she is. Delta wins their fight and is clearly physically stronger, but Zeta can completely hide her presence and Delta can't find her. This is something even Shadow can't manage. And when she does decide to run away Delta can't catch her. She's also shown to be very clever in following her own agenda which she hides completely from Alpha.

The fact that Shadow technically has so much power at his disposal even ignoring his innate magical abilities and physical skill but he has no idea is fucking hilarious. It’s kind of sad, but we wouldn’t get half the enjoyment we get from The Eminence in Shadow if it weren’t for Shadow’s massive density that is somehow perfectly veiled behind his very convincing roleplay. Fucking incredible.

I would say you're definitely underestimating the power of magic control. Magic control also let's Epsilon do things like precisely aim magic-infused items like daggers, as we see her doing in the anime, time speed bursts and quite likely give her one of the best controls of the ever-flexible slime suits. If we're just talking combat, one should not underestimate the power of precision.

Something interesting that you missed to say was that it seems that there is a difference in power if a non-named number is awakened by Shadow or not. That is why 559 and 666 are supposed to be special compared to others of the same rank.

In newest novel Eta gets some screen time at the end and does not disappoint when it comes to fighting. Spoils: In the newest novel eta beat beta. She fights using tools shes invented. It took alpha to come and stop her. Of course it wasn't a fight to the death or anything and there was alot of comedic elements but it was the first good look at her in action and it was not disappointing.

Ok this information was left out about zeta : zeta can go toe to toe with delta in a fight they just never have a clear winner because zeta would just get bored and leave it's also why some of her techniques are unfinished and flawed. This has been said by cid himself. Source both Ln and Manga About Gamma she has tried to be trained by shadow but her problem is her athletic skills she is clumsy as hell and basically on the same level as darkness from kunosuba she has power but can't hit anything. However the times where she has gotten kills were mostly due to just plain luck she's just not to be messed with when it comes to turning shadows ideas into bank.

I'd be interested in seeing how the Shadows compare to others in the world. How much stronger did Rose become when she became a number? How high do you need to go in the Garden's hierarchy before you reach someone who can consistently take down an underworld boss, like Juggernaut? Is there that much of a delineation between Government knights, underworld bosses, legends, artifact users, and Shadow Garden members?

Honestly, I feel like Sid might have something similar to that orc power from Warhammer 40k, where if the orcs believe in something, it becomes true, except in his case the world adjusts it’s reality in accordance to his imagination, without him even realizing.

I find it funny how rest of the world doesn't know how magic truly works and Cid just figured it out by experimenting in few years

zeta could be (aside alpha) the strongest member of shadow garden. Her wits and talent are second to none but she has a fatal flaw: she's a cat, and with that she's a total lazy ass and can't be bored to master anything fully. She's still a very powerful contender to delta, but her lack of focus and interest just don't allow her to win against her.

shadow garden is one of the best anime groups to enter anime even surpassing the gotei 13 from bleach and the tomb of nazaric from overlord in hierarchy structure...my only concern is that the story focuses too much on shadow and cid too use its potential too the fullest....it would be fun too get an arc that goes deep into the inner workings of the organisation such as an exploration of their base or even a daily mission against the cult of diablos

There is also the exception of Victoria in terms of strength compared to her number. Since she was healed by Cid directly. The Shades think that she is almost at their level. Rose and Akane will probably be very strong as well given this. His sister Claire potentially may become really powerful if she had been trained by him. I think it was in the web novel or manga that they mention that she did pick up a few tricks from Cid even in his mob persona.

So in terms of strength scaling... 1. Shadow = OP and will beat your ass 2. 7 Shadows = OP and can beat Beatrix, no diff 3. Named Numbers (8-25) = More or less on the level of Beatrix 4. Regular Numbers (26-100) = Weaker than Beatrix but will still give her a hard time and possibly win 5. Regular Numbers (101-200) = Can beat Iris Midgar, no diff 6. Regular Numbers (201-300) = More or less on the level of Iris Midgar 7. Regular Numbers (301-400) = Weaker than Iris Midgar but will still give her a hard time and possibly win 8. Regular Numbers (401-500) = Awakened Rose level 9. Regular Numbers (501-666) = Claire Kagenou level But... Claire Kagenou as a Vessel = Regular Numbers (26-100) or even Named Numbers (8-25). These are merely my imagination though...

Honestly I believe that Cid's Isekai power is not that he is OP but rather that the universe modifies his delusions to become accurate some of the "coincidences" go way too far to be just happenstance.

As Cid put it himself there are important things to him everything else he cut away. His presumed fabrication being proven right or wrong is not one of those important things. So yes, Cid will never be aware he is right. If for no other reason, even if he is shown its true as he will just assume the one showing him is playing along.

There are two facts first people form another world are called demons (I think they called Akane that), and in later part diablos cultist wonders how can Shadow be so powerful and one of the options mentions is demon for another world.

Zeta Is the most talented of them all but lack the dedication to master any thing and get easily bored and tend to run away when that happened. Zeta is definitely closer to delta if not stronger if she went all out. Beta and epsilon is a tossup but would give it to epsilon because she is more talented then beta and I think she even admits to it in the anime or the novel. Beta mostly have the social skills many lack in the group and is the public face

I thought that Eta was the weakest mostly because of her attitude but also from more focus on experiments and projects and letting others do the testing of her projects, and because of that i think that didnt even train as much as the rest of Shade's, And yes, even considering Gamma' s most obviously weakness and as AniNews said her intuition, i think she could still beat Eta mostly because of two reasons: First: It said that Gamma is as smart as Eta but Gamma Inteligence is more focused around strategic combat when Eta's more focused as scientist, so this should at least give a little advantage if come to a combat. Second: (here i gonna use info i saw from the gatha game so if isnt cannon you can negate everything i write from now on) From what I saw it looked tha Eta also don't have intuition as a fighter and adding what i wrote above about her attitude and everything else, it is possible that she have the lowest battle prowess from all the Shades
