Leading up to the eleventh edition of the #IndianFilmFestivalofMelbourne, the IFFM Film Club will host a series of masterclasses and conversations with prominent Indian filmmakers and actors for cinephiles in India and beyond. The sixth IFFM Film Club featured respected writer-director #AnjaliMenon whose films have been a part of the New Wave in #Malayalam cinema. #BangaloreDays was her big commercial hit, but #Manjadikuru, #KeralaCafe, #Koode, and #UstadHotel (which she wrote but didn't direct) have contributed to her reputation as one of the most exciting filmmakers working in India currently. She talks about how achieving commercial success made people stop viewing her through the lens of "a woman director", and explains why all stories don't have to come from a personal place in order to be authentic.
