Just lost my father who was in the army. Was about to retire soon with 25+ years of service. He was a good man. Great family guy. He did everything to support family. This song is totally relatable, mom being Maili as well. Now when I listen to this song, I tear up thinking that how my mum must be feeling. All those dreams and hope, to stay together till end of time. Being a single son and now I am abroad it's heart breaking to even what is going with her.

I have a question for all. Do you listen this song like me ? This song is a masterpiece. Everyone has their unique way of listening music. Some feel music with lyrics some feel it with the dhun of the song. But i felt something that just makes me get goosebumps. I feel the lyrics and the breathing way that she is singing it. The way she is inhaling, exhaling and controlling her breathing i just feel it . My mind just only focuses on her breathing tyo geet gaauda kheri usko saas fereko sunda i feel so relieved. This is the best i’ve heard and will always be in my heart even at my 60’s or 70’s I wanna hear it at that time too.

This song clearly depicted my parents life that they lived as a “lahurey” and “lahurey ko srimati” more that 40 years ago. A young man sacrificing his desires and wishes to work abroad faraway from his loved ones, and a single breadwinner to his parents and his extended family. Coming home every three years or so only to be looked down upon by the city elites while remaining a cash cow for his family. And to be tagged Lahurey all his life. And then to die before reaching old age because of the heavy burden he had to carry his whole life. Unappreciated and underrated. If only he could get his life back would he have lived differently? Would he have had enough time to spend his youthful days with his new bride?
