Following revised anatomic terminology published in 1998, the peroneal nerve is also now known as the fibular nerve, to prevent confusion of this nerve with those regions with similar names.

This is way more complicated than what I got for my surgery.... I had a full leg nerve block that only took place just below my knee. But they did that after I was put to sleep with a IV based anesthetic.

Very helpful video. However two things crossed my mind as I was watching, One is too much local? i mean isnt 10cc too much in one location. Two is the unusual approach to the Ulnar dorsal to the FCU tendon. I need to try that one.
@msyotaboy6 жыл бұрын
Abdul M no. Local anesthetic toxicity is related to concentration and volume not just volume alone. 10 cc's to be remotelu toxic will probably have to be at 4% concentration.

I had a similar block for a surgery I had near my ankle for an abscess. It wore off WAY too soon, and I was hurting.

dear sheri the purpose of an ankle block is to anaesthetise the foot locally for doing any surgical operation for the foot and the patient awake?

Looks painful to me. I am going to have surgery to straighten me toes. The surgeon told me he would numb my foot up really good before I leave the OR and that it would last about 12 hours. He said he would also give me some pain pills to take for about a week. Then I can't walk on it for about 8 weeks.

It's "pair-OH-nee-ul," not "pair-in-EE-ul." Your perineum is not on your ankle.

I do not recommend getting this. So I had surgery on my ankle yesterday and they did the never to my ankle. I swear the numbness is very annoying and it been 8 hours and I can’t feel a thing. I can’t seem to get comfortable and it feels like my whole lower leg was amputated..
@deusvult2302 Жыл бұрын
No thanks, prefer general anaethesia over these ankle blocks any dsx
@djcj11002 ай бұрын
It is usually done in the anaesthetised patient for pain relief, rather than instead of GA.
