I think smelting outposts are a thing of the past after the TLC passes. Metal weighs 85% less when on an anky. Metal and ingots weigh 50% less when on an argy. With some practice you get good at using the airbrake and hovering next to metal nodes while carrying an anky with an argy, anky will autoharvest metal nodes most of the time, you will have to manually top off once weight reaches about 2/3. 2 metal per ingot, 1 metal and 1 ingot weigh the same. 1000 metal weighs 150 on an anky. 500 ingots weigh 250 on an argy. Anky inventory is best for transporting metal, and ingots are already at base when you smelt metal there. Unless you just want it for the content, by using an outpost you add travel time and inventory transfers and the building and resources for the outpost.

Argy can carry small creatures in it's beak if the drag weight is low enough, look down at the dino while mounted and press C. The chainsaw might be better for harvesting chitin and org poly so give it a try, beetles and scorps are less trouble and yield a good amount of chitin compared to arthro. Wolf could possibly be better if it's damage is very high. Ask around to possibly borrow a good chainsaw BP, i believe it is the best for org poly. Red obelisk has the most pearls in one area, using a whip at night while mounted on a wolf works very well. Some pearls you will have to swim for but sanitize the area first (kapro, raptor, saber).

Grinder is definitely worth it, especially with ASA drops being cracked out… just spend a little drop hunting you’ll make all them back and some in no time

Evo, once I placed the grinder, I literally stopped farming.... I just farm drops while I am looking for stuff to tame :). You do need a weight Argy for this to work though so that you can carry literally everything, grind everything that you do not need.
