In her first television interview since leaving NBC, Ann Curry is speaking out about the #MeToo movement. Curry, who's making a much-anticipated return to TV with her new PBS show, "We'll Meet Again," was with NBC's "Today" show for 15 years. She co-anchored alongside Matt Lauer from 2011 to 2012 before a highly publicized break with the broadcast. Curry left NBC in 2015 and created her own production company. Curry joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss why she's "not surprised" by the sexual misconduct allegations against Lauer and how she's moved on from a period in her life that "hurt like hell."

Eva Milam, Haha... it seems women can do no wrong. "We need to speak out!'" "She didn't really speak out? Well... Good for her! She's protecting her legacy, not protecting the abusers." ~wink, wink~ "You go girl!" "And everyone should understand that it isn't actually a strategic calculation of keeping quiet when there is something to gain, and only speaking out, virtue signaling and playing the victim if and when it becomes more advantageous... the real reason is it's women's prerogative to change their mind so choosing to not speak out is actually empowerment... yeah... that's it."

No one asked her to bash Matt Lauer. The panel asked her to recount facts - her evasion, her persistence to maintain "political correctness", her silence is what caused suffering. People who sexually harass others deserve no sympathy. Public humiliation is the least of consequence.

Once again, not about bashing matt lauer. Its about recounting facts and data instead of emotional non-arguments- because one of those things bolsters a movement and the other hurts it. I'll let you decide which is which.

She always knew yet never spoke up. And now shes back and being invited to tell her story but no she doesn't want to hurt the predators delicate feelings. The tv business at the top is very small. She has her own show now. 1 + 1 = 2. This isn't being classy this is looking out for herself. So the predators can continue to amass new victims while she gets a nice position and a fat check.
@PIKMINROCK1

She's referring to the victims who could still be victims today. Nevermind that there's still a notable contingent of people who don't really believe in sexual harassment or get the concept of consent or power dynamics and will look down on women who they don't believe got sexually harassed, possibly harassing them directly

Cheri Yarboro because part of the appeal they've cultivated at morning shows is to perpetuate gossip. That's why so many people enjoyed Ann Curry and were disappointed when she was fired - Ann was more journalistic in her speaking topics and less gossipy/focused less on mundane pop news gossip. Thank you. More importantly, she has survived being let go and in such a public and unprofessional way by NBC. The lesson is her journey in terms of what she is doing now. DO any of us look back on the folks we used to work with at our previous job? She might never go back, but in the business, I would assume you don't burn your bridges, even if it is burning and swinging at the same time. She is class, and people seem not to be able to recognize and applaud it instead of wanting her to join the rag mags at the check out counter by telling what she knows about Matt. declasse

Why anyone is disliking this baffles me to no end. This woman has done nothing but remained dignified through all the pain that she endured and she is just where I knew she would be. On the other side as courageous as ever. Being silent is not a badge of honor, it is a humiliation and a degradation that no woman or man should have to face. May every person come out of the darkness, tell there story and as Oprah said not have to say Me Too ever again.

Misfit power it’s actually “hakuna matata”and it’s a much used Swahili phrase. People in Tanzania use it all the time and It means no worries, it’s all ok, let it go and be peaceful. That Disney movie made it ridiculous. But, it was actually cool and telling of her to use it. Anne’s cultured.

There's a delay in view updates when there are spikes. Also, trending is more than just views - it's also based off of google analytics in general. That is - if it's being tracked as relevant. This can easily happen if it's newsworthy/being linked to a lot in articles/blogs/etc

my guess? She's under her own NDA and really can't say much, presumably enough to be worth it for her to stay cagey and not bad mouth her former bosses. She's still old-school and it's hard to admit publicly what happened to you when you've been told most of your life that women are 2nd class and yet starting in the 70s, women were held to a higher standard of proof the louder we got. I wish she would at least call out the NBC management that allowed Matt Lauer to stay when there was proof of his $hitholery long before the Ann Currie was even there.

Finally, some women are trying to define the types of sexual harassment. I like Ann Curry, she is such a fine lady, doesn't even want to describe what was going on at NBC. Sexual harassment is not only touching or groping a woman; but to express all sorts of sexual advances to a lady it is just as bad and traumatizing.
