When Ann was two years old, her family moved from a small town near Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the suburbs of Chicago. In her early teens, she experienced a lot of bullying from her peers. Raised in a traditional Catholic home, she could not understand how a supposedly loving God could allow such things and thus began to question His existence. In the summer of 1981, accompanied by her family, Ann returned to her hometown for a summer vacation. Thus at the age of fifteen, she witnessed the beginning of Our Lady’s apparitions. In her testimony for the Fruits of Medjugorje series, Ann speaks of how that summer changed her life forever.
