Every player should have right to play under his/her country's flag. ATP do not mix sport with politics. Why during the genocidal Vietnam war US/Australian players could display their national allegiances? All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.

I agree. Great exchange at the net. Classy from Collins at the end as she acknowledged Kalinskaya's performance. Danielle Collins must have the best backhand on the WTA - I don't know why anyone would play to that wing!

Just like swiatek vs niemeier, this was an unfair first round match up. Kalinskaya could’ve reached at least the 3rd round if she didn’t have to play Collins first.

A large contingent of boisterous americans in this match rooting for Collins and heckling Kalinskaya - who on a number of occasions complained to the chair ump (who didn't seem to give a toss). American fans are just the rudest.

so much for la mona... she still one of the best looking ones in tennis... and has improved a lot.. but collins has much better defined and more powerful game.
