A REEDSY editor just finished editing my debut novel and said it's excellent and he can't wait for it to appear on the shelves. I can't say enough for this editor and REEDSY. I'm so glad I picked them.

Is anyone else struck by the irony that we are watching an almost 1.5 hour long video about avoiding procrastination and discussing the insights from a 208-page book to help get on with writing...? 😄

Learning/studying is also a form of procrastination! It's a "Let me get better before I write" mindset.

I really enjoyed listening to the interview with Anna. She was very inspiring, open and generous with her words. I managed to land two novels with Austin Macauley publishers over in the UK. I'm thinking of writing a sequel to one if them, but I'm finding it hard to get started.

A note on First Line Frenzy. I notice the editor they use has rules like don't start with description (v 19th century apparently) don't start with dialogue or waking up, dreams. Yet most modern literary fiction breaks all of these rules.

Grateful to Anna for mentioning some of the concerns before beginning a novel, particularly care-giving, which can be erratic and demanding. Thank you for the encouragement! 💕

There is a weekly live event, and those vary in structure - some feature guest authors (like this one), others are live editing sessions, and others are Tom's lessons on specific topics. Besides the weekly live events, students get access to 93 video master classes.

Hi - Any ideas for me who is writing a sort of memoir that includes celebrities I’ve known throughout my life? (all true and my experiences with the famous & infamous who are actually just people with more money) I dunno if it seems tacky or the like saying it like that … Thanx - you’re wonderful … Karon Bihari from NY

Not sure about the specific laws of your country, but in some places you could be sued by the people mentioned in your book. If you could consult a lawyer, that'd be great. Otherwise, you can trust your instincts. Either way, good luck with the book! 💜

How about people who are supersensitive who need complete peace to write? No room is ever found or spot that suits this. There is always something in the way, like fear of non-stop ideas going nowhere or never finishing, or not making sense out of it, or being lead here and there by characters or visions that keep going never to offer structure only detail and stimulus of the five senses...fear of the mountains they've erected you're reluctant to see weaved together etc etc..I suppose the whole issue is a sense of being LOST. If Tolkien didnt have a publisher put his mess together he would have never had a story. I get lost in plot and details and have no idea who is playing in the story, just a faint idea. Characters are the last thing I can seem to develop. P.S. I have numerous little pen pots all over the house too............
