Unlike many generic versions I,ve heard through many years , this interpretation is quite unique in the fact that he almost seems to play the individual keys late which adds to the excitement and the passion only he can portray . Its actually quite clever and captivating .Thats just my opinion ............Fabulous

I don’t get why so many hates him... it’s almost like not liking Yundi Li becomes a trend. He’s very truly talented!
@leoyu94943 жыл бұрын
I don’t think people “hate” him; it’s more about being disappointed. He has basically quit his career. He doesn’t play like this anymore.
@leameine77243 жыл бұрын
.???Quit his career??? He has many recitals scheduled for 2020 which were postponed due to COVID-19. There are far more KZfaqrs who praised Yundi than disliked him. As to the ones who do, they keep saying the same things over and over again that Yundi has regressed since winning the Chopin Competition since 2000. One only has to listen to his recordings and attend his performances to know these comments are smearing ones to say the least. It is sad to hear such untrue statements spoken of toward such a great pianist of our time.
@qazjoker3 жыл бұрын
Must say he’s no longer being a pianist wholeheartedly judging by some incidents, such a shame for that talent. But I’m still grateful for what he gave us.

this is hands down the best version of the moonlight sonata around, that 3rd movement has exactly the right speed and feel, dramatic yet not drowing out any notes
@music4everandafter8 жыл бұрын
+Fat Lum right?? the 3rd movement speed is like dancing naked under the storm at the edge of the earth, maybe some balls of fire falling around right????
@frakreynolds12348 жыл бұрын
+Andres Catunga, I'm guessing, since I'm eight that that means, it's hard. But actually, the song seems very easy. I mean, after, the very beginning, it really is just a moderate speed on the right hand and a mush of repeated key mush on the left that changes every ones in a while. But for some parts, it's easy, but not good. Like the horrible part at the end. Ughhhhhhhh.

Beautiful rendition. Maybe the "mistake" people are hearing is that there is something wrong with the damper being stuck closed on C# one octave above middle C. This song is played with a lot of pedal, so every time that note comes out staccato due to the damper problem it sounds off. After the first time you can hear that he does his best to work around it.

It's like some of you know nothing about music. "Not keeping tempo shows a lack of respect for the composer"? Ummm, no, clearly if they took the time to learn the piece they respect what the composer has done. Whether he chooses to play the song more slowly or faster than the original piece is HIS choice. He is the performer, any composer who thinks their piece should never be performed differently than they wrote it deserve no respect. It takes away the personal musical experience.
