Ok everyone is rightfully talking about Anna's singing, but could we also talk about the fact that she's voice acting multiple characters as she sings? Every character has a distinct voice which manages to capture both their role in the song, and the spirit of the original performance, while also demonstrating the emotions of the song.

Actually, not really, she sang this amazingly, and did make slight changes but would not go as far to say that "every character has a distinct voice" she just changed it a bit so they dont all sound exactly the same but they still sound pretty much like her, there are differences between certain extremes where she uses more of her chest/head voice depending on the character (which is actually better imo because everybody tries to imitate every single character and that does not make sense since oyu are one person, I orefer this way of making a solo cover where you sing every character with your own voice but slight changes)

@NBA ssasin Yeah, these are all distinctly "Anna". She characterizes all of the different tracks a little, but that's really only for texture. Still impressive. She's a singer, not an impressionist.

@@VibesOfVinegar Exactly And I actually prefer that, I came to listen to her sing, not play these characters, a little differentiation is nice, but imitating would be tasteless so I think she did a wonderful job (as she does most of the times so no suprise there). I hoped she would do something like this because I love how she sings so I wanted her version of this song and not her imitating original (what most people do when they cover this song is try to hard to replicate original which is done by like 10 different people

I love how at the end where all the parts are singing at once you have some veeeeery slight volume changes so each character's voice has a line or two where they slightly overpower the others and take the spotlight.

the way you act out each individual character could literally be rewritten as an encanto AU where everything is just very slightly different in tone and evidently a lot darker and serious and a bit more frantic (from mirabel’s end)

There are so many amazing parts to this cover! The growl in your voice at ‘seven foot frame’ part is going to live in my head rent free for the rest of my life and the riff on ‘now look at my head’ is just amazing! You really are spoiling us with this cover!

I love Anna, and this is SO AMAZING, I’m super impressed, but it’s totally not the original song, and while Anna did an incredible job with this, there’s no way that one person can portray the characters’ personalities the way that separate actors can, like, I don’t think anyone can truly rival the original piece masterpiece
