i used to build these in mass. back when i was a kid,, couldn't get bark,, used blankets,tarps, tar paper, pine boughs, cattail mats,, like he said mats are hard, so i made small token mats of cat tail,, i used all parts of cattails.Nice to see this again and dine right.

Cultural Educator, Annawon Weeden, named after the last Wampanoag war chief to surrender during King Philip’s War holds ancestry from the Narragansett, Pequot & other eastern woodland nations & is an enrolled member of the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe on Cape Cod, MASS. The youngest son of Patricia Weeden & Tall Oak, he’s a proud father. A ~ Ho!
