im so frustrated with this gilbert hshfdjfsddshf last episode he was looking at anne the entire dance and now he barely glances at her i--
i wanted gilbert to realize it was different dancing with anne than dancing with winnifred-- like while dancing he keeps looking for this type of feeling he felt when dancing with anne while dancing with winnie but nah he didnt and im sad and frustrated

Agreed as they got older Anne had her string of a couple guys her had a thing for Anne and there was a serious one that was serious competition for Gilbert too in the books. Read it. It's pretty good stuff.

it's so heartbreaking to see flashbacks from the last episode when Gilbert looked at Anne smiling and almost flirting, while in this episode he's barely looking at her during the dance. also, when Anne said that "to think it was true that someone could look at me in that way" it made me so sad, especially now that she realized her feelings. you made a wonderful job with this edit, it was really emotional.❤️

like so many people are saying "omg Anne deserves this for being so blind" or "Anne was rude and ignored him for ages this is karma!" - but honestly...she was told to stay away from him and knew how Ruby felt from the first day she ever met him. She convinced herself that he is Ruby's and has a habit of putting her foot in her mouth anyway because of how eccentric she can be! But beyond that...she has been treated badly her entire life and left at an orphanage, bullied and told that nobody would ever love her. She was ridiculed at the spin the bottle game, other boys not wanting to kiss her and calling her awful names. Even if she did have feelings for Gilbert or realized how he noticed her before this episode...she probably convinced herself that she wasn't worthy of his love or that he didn't feel that way - because that is what she was told her entire life! My poor baby :( although I wish she would have noticed her feelings sooner, I think people need to see things from her side more. She was there for him when nobody else was and can't help that she sometimes gets things wrong!

I haven’t really thought about it that way yet... mostly because I keep seeing comments like the ones you mentioned. But this is absolutely heart breaking, especially when she finally realizes and lets her feelings for him come to life. But then Winnie comes into the picture. There’s just so many things that have happened to her and I do think people will forget that sometimes just because of how far she’s come. I just wish Gilbert could know everything she’s been through.

In that case i am really annoyed with the writers about not showing Anne thinking about ruby's feelings after she did accepted she has a crush on Gilbert. In this episode Ruby wasn't in Anne's mind never, not when she realiced she liked Gil, not when she saw Gil with another girl.... And yes, Ruby did said that she wasn't interested in Gil anymore, but that happend way later, until the end of the fairy, at the dance

Andrea Obando yeah I get what you mean, but the entire show she has been concerned for Ruby’s feelings when realistically - ruby doesn’t know the first thing about Gilbert and just finds him handsome. Anne should have considered her own feelings a lot sooner because having “dibs” is so childish when he is a person, not an object to own. I’m glad ruby has found someone else who likes her but in fairness, I would be proud of Anne for realising that her own feelings matter more than Ruby’s especially as she has been there more and truly cares instead of just seeing him as something to hang on her arm

This is way different from the books...years pass by and Anne, Charlie and Gilbert go to college...charlie and Gilbert are crazy about Anne,...but she rejects them just as she does with the others that propose to her...Anne cares a lot about Gilbert but she is waiting for her "ideal man", the one she's been dreaming of all her life...it is in the third book called Anne of the Island. She meets him in college. They date for about 2 yrs till she finally realizes she loves Gilbert when she hears that he's dying, at the end of the book.

Anne never considers Charlie more than a friend, she even thinks he's not interesting at all...Gilbert is totally the opposite, she loves talking to him but she starts to evade him when she notices he has other intentions with her and in many occasions she uses Charlie as a way to "punish" Gilbert when he makes her feel uncomfortable, but Gilbert knows Anne doesn't like Charlie...he tries his best studying, he wants to be enough for Anne and make her see him...after all he does for her, it is so sad when Anne tells him she will never accept more than his friendship :'(...they are already in their twenties by that time.

It's strange how I feel just like Anne right now. That part when she said "there is finally someone look at me in such ways" (?) is really relatable to me. This still hurts. As I watched this, I realized something. When Anne and Gilbert were dancing during dance practice, he was still with Winifred at the time. Something obvious, yet somehow overlooked, both by me and Gilbert himself. They were so in love at that moment, Gilbert had almost forgotten he was courting another love, and so did I!
