I followed this link after I came across her son's post announcing her passing and I am gutted not to have read any of her works but all that changes from this morning. A unique writer and very deep sense of how the supernatural relates with natural. Love her works already .

Not only was Anne a great writer but a very industrious writer. She could type like a Ferrari. Very fast and productive, very focused. Her career is a lesson for would-be writers. You've got to do the work and you've got to do it well.

Anne Rice was brilliant. If you read "Vittorio, the Vampire" you'll see her knowledge of politics and history. If my memory is correct, the vampires capture humans from one town by convincing the neighboring town that they'll be okay, as long as they don't intervene and let their neighbors be taken. The captured humans are kept working all day and fed alcohol mixed with blood so they'll be drunk and tired all the time (therefore unable to fight back) as well as crave blood (just like the vampires) and therefore be pitted against each other (divide to conquer). Furthermore, the humans are kept awake and working all night so that they have no energy during the daylight--the one time when the vampires are vulnerable. We see how this is working in our world today--divide and conquer, keeping people from attacking the powerful's weakness (which is that there are fewer of them) by decreasing our numbers, killing us off and forcing us to keep a distance from each other, and trying to make us just like them--psychopathic.

and this kind of knowledge pops through in so many of her books! Servant of The Bones explored terrorism and religious fear mongering in a way that still rings true to this day, on all sorts of levels. her understanding of history and its impact on how we live, as human beings, in the present day remains as potent as when it was first published.

⚜I grew up in the Garden District 🌺...near her beautiful home. It is strange that she is no longer here... I feel that she did reach Immortality, thru her many writings, however.✍ ...I can visit her whenever I choose thru her many stories,📚 and in New Orleans📯.... Death is only a passage to The Spirit Realm, And We invite The Spirits to all of our parties!🎷🎶🥳 "Laissez Le Bonne Ton Roule"!🎺 🥀Anne Rice, You are gone from this plane of Existence, BUT... NEVER FORGOTTEN.🙏⚘ From one Of your Many... "People Of The Page".📖🙌

Anne Rice has become one with Lestat already! I don't care what other people can say about her appearance or the way she expresses, not even the arrogant interviewer who was constantly interrupting her and correcting her! (Shame on him) There's no other writer I can remember that has called my attention like she did. Anne Rice for ever!

It took me a whole year to write my first book, and then my second book took 6 months... 3rd is nearly half done in one month. Everyone's road to success and perfection is different. Seems like every person with a negative comment on this video clearly hasn't read memnoch the devil, she paraphrases in this video but before you go calling her foolish you should read what she actually said in the book, all the things you said in your comments that she is supposedly ignorant to she covers very extensively in her novels, also while she acknowledges that her writing may be profound from a readers perspective in reality she was just thinking through some of the philosophical and theological questions mentioned as small and petty in some of the comments, to their absolute fullest extent, and creating dialogue between opposing view points within herself to work out personal conflict in the form of dialogue between opposing characters, looking deep into her books you realize she was really just giving her 2 cents on reality and if you didn't like it that doesn't mean it was a personal attack to you and your sheepish abrahamic theology

I thought her hair looked a lil bit funny with it being so high or raised up top and thought it may be a wig because the color too is a bit off for her complexion, but she is writing about vampires and such things and maybe she wanted to look the part with the long dark wig and red lipstick.

Get a load of that wig! I think it's interesting that this one, Memnoch the Devil, she originally tried not as part of the Vampire Chronicles, because her upcoming book she also started as a separate novel but blended into the Chronicles. Obviously she was wrong about it being the last one.

This is the peri-menopausal look I strive for. Don't know if she was wearing a wig, don't care, I think it's very befitting of women in their 40s and early 50s to LEAVE THEIR HAIR LONG (it's a matter of leaving it, my hair still grows to my waist in my 30s if I trim it but it mightn't have if I didn't start growing it from my shoulders in my early 30s and I'd never chop it off now unless I'm ready for it to be OFF...I also don't have children. I think that matters. I've known women past menopause in their early 50s GORGEOUS and not looking a day past 36, because they never had kids, just saying kids take it out of you literally they steal your actual body from you...not just your waist or your boobs, my sister lost her TEETH after having three kids because she was a party girl. Moms have died in childbirth in their 20s or 30s, from petty alcohol abuse in their early 40s, I was literally told at age 7 or 8 that children would take my hair and my nails and my body from me, I've never forgotten that warning from a middle aged witch). I always hated the Baby Boomer women who thought to be feminists they had to have ugly short hair and look like middle aged men in the 80s and 90s. Ugh. I think it didn't help that their mothers before them were strictly religious (not always but a lot) and looked plain in middle age anyway, with weird short hairstyles that dressed them "down" and made them less attractive after motherhood in the 1950s and 60s. The only cute old women I knew were little old ladies my grandparents age who never cut their hair since childhood, the culty evangelical women with butt-length hair (my lesbian dream girls, they're so offended, it delights me, it's why I love Lana del Rey with her ultra-long hair and Jesus cross....she knows what she's doing, fam). Okay I'm going to end this rambling offensive off-topic comment now. Hopefully some feminist or gay man enjoyed it.

4:10 Well you dont find out by playing Mrs Dressup and writing another novel. I have heard inactive Catholics say this many times. If G-d exists why are there so many evil or painful things happening in the world? It just seems like an excuse or exit card to me. But the question itself points to an element within the very faith structure that has always been faulty from the start. The idea that G-d is nothing but a love child bearded panzy going around saying love is all that matters. They embrace this concept of God rather than an ALMIGHTY concept where all traits , powers, currents , and actions are under his command. The very idea that G-d has and will again send Evil against people for his purpose as well as compassion. This is a matter of understanding. These are childish questions and that is clear to anyone who has at least been engaged in religious studies. But Anne probably delights herself with the idea that she is being profound. One is directed towards another Question. Does she really want to know? I suppose she does as long as the answer isnt coming from anywhere outside of her bubble. Believe it Anne. You really dont want to know. Because like it or not , everything you come to learn will be things you will be held accountable for. Apparently this life isnt much in the face of the eternal.

3:00 So amusing when writers depend on the ignorance of their readers when they lie about their references. Im calling B.S. What she quotes doesnt describe any fallen Angel at all. Its amazing how a large group of people can go centuries without realizing that half of the notions contrived by the church can not be identified in the very texts they claim to be based upon. Just saying. I mean there are still plenty of so called devoted Catholics out there that would be very surprised to find out the story of this fallen angel really doesnt exist in the Bible but was a later development of Dante, and even Milton. Concepts derived from the book of Geneses where the Sons of God started having relations with the daughters of men. Giants that went on to create what became men of renown . In fact the word Angel originally in the Hebrew means nothing more than messenger. Where am I going with this? Quite simple. The whole concept of the fallen angel in regards to Biblical reference is as fantastic and made up as the idea that Angels were human creatures sporting wings. Its Poop. Sorry. Its like the whole illusion the Goths and modern day wickens give themselves through hair dye and dark mascara . Im thsooo evoooo. Ummmmm how about no. How about its a security blanket you have wrapped yourself in. Not that there is anything wrong with that but try to remember when your dishing out your blah blahs not everyone is as stupid as you might think.
