Yessss exactly I ordered Another 13, had the sample for a whileeee and I kept going back to it. And I was likeee I see why it’s so addictive. And it’s happening again Santal Vanille. 😅 ayyyyyyy it’s somethinggg addicting. I’m usually a sweet perfume type of girl. Now I’m doing muskkk, a lil rose, what’s going on 😂😂😂

@@maricelalaines-crus7929 thanks to her review I ordered Clean Reserve Sueded Oud because it was on her fresh list, however it’s not at all what I usually call fresh and will take some getting used to 😅 I usually wear citrusy and green fragrances and this is suddenly sweet and dark??? But interesting nonetheless!

The fruity nuance that you're smelling in Bal D'Afrique is actually the marigold flower! Marigolds have a very unique smell, it's thick, it's slightly fruity, it's solar and floral. ❤

I agree. I have a family member who created this conspiracy theory that they put things in perfume to get us obsessed. I don’t understand why they just don’t accept the fact that some people live for the love of fragrance and it makes them happy and love being obsessed

Hi Anne, love your videos! I find it very helpful when KZfaqrs put the name of the fragrance on the screen while they talk about it. Then I just do a print screen, so I know which frag to put on my sample list. Even if the name of the frag is listed, it can be hard to hear the name with all the tricky pronunciations and names in French and Italian. Now I have put (noted) Bal Dafrique and Another 13 on my wish list. Thank you once again for all your great reviews 🥰

Thank you SO much for how you describe each and every perfume! My signature scent I wore for 15 years is no longer sold in North America or online anywhere so for the last month I’ve been researching all the influencers in the fragrance world for their recommendations. ALL these perfumes in this video I have ordered on the websites you’ve provided and the last ones from Scent split came today after being lost in Japan haha. For some reason you and I have the same preferences….youre probably 30 yrs younger than I (I’m a young 58) and smell is EVERYTHING to me! Don’t like designer perfumes per se but love the fascination of a great niche perfume and lately have been obsessed with all things fragrance associated with it. You’re amazing! You’re funny! If I really thought about pairing down my collection there’s no way I could do less than 20. And I feel like that’s fair! I live in the Midwest (IN) and we have all 4 seasons and for me this would offer enough variety I think…maybe….kind of. I’m not downsizing lol.

Anne, out of all the fragrance reviewers I follow, you are the most spend thrift and risk averse…you thoroughly vet each fragrance and all the nuances, that by the time you make a recommendation, it’s a sure bet 👏 I just added Another 13 and more Le Labo scents to my collection (Ambrette, Matcha, The Noir, Labdanum) bc of you and now I’ll need to get Gypsy Water and Bal d’afrique. After trying Velvet Haze years ago, I took a looong hiatus from Byredo, but will revisit now :) Happy Holidays 🎉

It's so crazy, I have discovered your channel a couple of months ago and was so surprised to find that we have an almost identical taste. After watching the video, it's even crazier because apart from the 7 virtues fragrance, our lists are sooo similar!!! Appreciate all your recommendations even more (the only safe blind buys I can do hehe)

What a fantastic list! I love Herod, Delina, Bal D'Afrique. I have Oud for Greatness and just smelled it again watching this video and every time I smell it I'm more drawn. I still have not worn it outside the confines of my house. But I'm getting there... My fave on my wife is Gris Charnel.

I just blind bought Clean Sueded Oud because of you and let me just say…. I am now addicted !! Wow imo this is the best one in their whole line ! Yet it is the hardest to find and Sephora doesn’t even carry it 😢 I hope they don’t cancel this scent.

I love Gypsy Water. It's one my favorite fragrances. The incense in Gypsy Water is not that detectable. It's a lovely fragrance.

Herod was my 5th purchase and I rarely wear it. I've noticed that sharp spicy smelling scents that I constantly sniff on give me a headache, two other scents that come to mind with the same problem: Initio's Rehab and Xerjoff's Starlight. I don't really have a list, but if I did, it would be littered with gourmands. Going to be my first winter with full bottles of Sultan, Lune Feline, and Ani.

Jaques Fath Curacao Bay. 7 Teo Cabanel Et Voila 8. Initio Side Effect 9. ATH Haze Black( which the filth accord is just as good on a lady) 10. Jovoy 21 Coduit St. Honorable mentions for you Kieren NYC 10 Am Flirt, Nishane Wulong Cha, Amouroud Wet Stone, PDM Galloway, Carner Barcelona Fig Man , Jul Et Mad Stairway to Heaven, YSL L'Homme Ultime. Omg I rarely hear anyone talk about Guerlains Spiritueuse Double Vanille …I’m screaming hahaha I love it soooo much! That and Clean Reserve Skin are 2 almost everyday base scents/go to when I don’t know what else to wear scents for me!! Maybe it’s just me but I detect a bit of coconut in Bal D’Afrique. Such an intriguing scent. I don’t find it citrusy at all on my skin and it’s a cold weather scent for me. Really like it. Oh and Santal Vanille is divine.

Guyssss Gypsy water is a watered down version of Dyptiques Tam Dao and Tam Dao lasts all freaking day and it also get better as time goes on. I just got the discovery set of Byredo and I am super disappointed.

In particular I'd love to know which Penhaligon's and which Diptyque scents you vibe with most. Have you tried Pen's Cousin Flora? I imagine you'd like the dry down a lot, but it can be hard to get your hands on.

Great review! Bal dAfrique is my personal favorite followed by Le Labo’s Cedrat 37, which is like a Ginger Ale (candied, lime-ginger) kid sister to Bal dAfrique and my favorite Le Labo fragrance.

I love your reactions to your perfumes! We have such the same taste in scents- so my next purchases will be THESE! I'm a broke bish tho, so I'll be buying Oud for Glory, etc. Yeah..can u believe it. ..I've never yet smelled any of these except BalDafrique. Oh!...I received a tester of BDK Tobac Rouge- it smells so much like how u describe Delina! It has no tobacco scent, despite the name. I'M NOT into rose scents, but something about Tobac Rouge I'm kinda into! I bet its a more masculine leaning take on Delina! I definitely imagine wearing a formal black dress on a night out with it! Have you tried it and what are your thoughts!!?? Because of you, I've bought Byredo's Bal D'Afrique (Dossier version) and LOVE the simplicity of it- so pretty and uncomplicated! I used up the bottle within 2 months and now my niece is sending me a new bottle! I also bought a travel of Sunny Side Up and love it and miss it. I used up the travel size in two days, lol!!! I'm a fire sign- Sag here, woot~woot!!!

Tobacco and vanilla are cloying and nauseating IMO, and unfortunately Byredo Afrique dry down smells like that on me but the opening is amazing. I'm sad 😢 Delina Exclusif is the most addictive and feminine scent I've ever smelled. Also new love is Adventus for Her ❤

You might really like Lush Two More Hearts. It’s one of my favorite ylang ylang dominant fragrances and the other two most prominent notes on my skin are sandalwood and vanilla, which I’ve quickly learned that you’re a fan of lol. I love it in cool to cold weather.

No idea how I found you, I have one perfume and it’s from Dossier. But I’m looking to smell better… so I’m thinking I’m gonna go to Sephora and smell some perfumes. Not sure if they’ll have the fancy ones you mentioned but I’m intrigued by the santal vanille one!

Ofg is fresh,woody and musky imo. Not challeging at all, it does not contain real oud. I liked it from first sniff, but it's overpriced. It remembers me of Galloway sometimes, probably the same musky drydown.

Lol, it’s so hard to pick a top 10 list, especially when you collect fragrances that you LOVE, and not just like. 😁 I’m not surprised to see Delina, it’s also in my top 10 list. I love this scents profile so much, that I got 2 back up bottles, I also got Initio Atomic Rose. And thanks to you Anne, I discovered Hibiscus Mahajad and I’m putting a serious dent on my fairly new bottle. It has its place in my holy grail 2022 list. 😍😍😍I love it!!!

I'm still waiting for a brand review of the latest line-up at Fort & Manle 🤤🤩...with a specific (and ruthless) assessment of their performance. I'd like that to be the focus of a review, I'd value your 'test drive' report. I would sweep the entire collection into my shopping basket TODAY, if only they weren't such terrible performers (ie; no sillage, no projection, poor longevity). They remain a strangely faint olfactory stain on the skin which everybody I know can only discern if their nostrils are crushed against the epidermis in question. They are heaven but something technical is hugely amiss. For that price point?! No chance. But I'd love to hear about YOUR experiences and ultimate verdict.

I was wondering, if you had come up with a video on the different sandalwood fragrances that are the best? I think I want to get a sandalwood heavy fragrance, and can't really decide between the three of Santal Complet, Santal Vanille, and Sunny Side Up. Do you have any other suggestions as well?

Have you tried Elizabeth and James Nirvana Amethyst? To me it would be what someone with your tastes would enjoy on a cool, rainy spring day. Blonde tobacco, honeysuckle, cedar, spices. It's like a Herod for springtime.

Some of these fragrances I've tried, through samples or owned them once upon a time. For the most, I totally agree with your taste. Just one thing I cannot understand: why this worldwide mad love for Delina? Through time I had several samples of this, and I don't get it. Is this really thát complimented? Do people all over the world love this thát much? Why? I know fragrance is very personal, but when a fragrance is that well loved, you just feel like: what am I missing here? I smell a rosy old lady 😢
