The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner (1987). This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. One reason why I love Frederiks voice is their cover of Life On Mars (David Bowie): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qdJ5eppyytmbdIE.html. And my favorite original song of Giant Rooks is Nightingales Of The Walled City: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/attlo7OrpteUmWQ.html . It is a live performance because they haven't released it.

Suzanne Vega originally sings it, but the guys outsang her greatly, suspect them being German due to the accent but not sure as I’ve never heard them before

amk or annenmaykantereit (you did well with the pronounciation) and Giant Rooks are both German bands. GR opened for amk a few years back and they recorded this gem. Fred Raabe is the first singer (vocalist of GR) and Henning May, the soul man is the second singer (vocalist of amk). amk are huge in Germany and a few other countries and have fans all over the world. GR are up and coming and have fans in the UK and the US etc. They are both insanely talented bands and anything will be great to react to

Thanks for your great reaction, I watched nearly every react video to this song and I'm always fascinated by the impression in the faces of the people who reacts to it. Your pronunciation is pretty good, the last part is pronounced more like ride. To answer your other question, yes, please react to more AMK songs. They have some other great covers and I have a suggestion, if you don't know the original song, you can react to both versions in one video. I didn't see any video like that. Now some more information about this video, in the first room you see Annenmaykantereit (the combination of the surnames of the three members) and Frederik Rabe from Giant Rooks and in the second room you see his band. Later on the others join them and they are all together. I'm not sure, but I think that the original song by Susan Vegas is an acapella song. Greetings from 🇩🇪

Germany. The rich strong baritone is Henning May and his band AnnenMayKantereit in 1st room and Great Rooks singer and band 2nd room. AMK started as a street band 11 yrs ago. They now sell out hugh arena in Germany. They have covered alot of classic. rock songs videos are on youtube.i hope with this exposure on youtube that the will make am album in English. I listened to a couple songs in German and the huge crowds singing along. It sounded good even though I couldnt understand a word He's my favorite singer of the past several decades.
