I was in high school in the 1950s and, folks, this isn't the Disney version of how it was, this is how it was. We all knew we were living in a special time, we all knew a lot of it had the ring of being a very restricted and controlled culture, but on the other hand I don't think we felt we were missing anything. Yes, we dressed up to go other kids' homes, we were respectful our friends' parents life was utterly predictable. It didn't last but it was nice to be part of.

I left a comment on another video saying I'd seen this serial from beginning to end...well, it turns out there were quite a few I didn't see. I had no idea it went up to 19 episodes. Wish there were more, but it's nice the way everything wraps up at the end. I can't believe I spent over 3 hours today watching this! Thanks all the more for uploading all of it!

And notice how back then an apology really was an apology -- without any justification for having been wrong or shifting blame. Nobody truly apologizes for anything these days, more's the pity.

There is something very nostalgic about this series, a time and place and people who will live forever here and in our hearts. The internet and John Sutfin brings timeless joy. Thank you for posting this. I never saw this before, the series, but love it all the more. When I was seven I adored Karen Pendleton, the blond announcer. All these kids were fantastic.

My mind was quite blown when they finally found that necklace stuck in the piano. And it really left me surprised and impressed to know that they solved that mystery at last and that Laura was very regretful of what she'd been doing ever since she lost it. If only they HAD looked more thoroughly in it, though, she would never have been that way towards everyone in the gang, especially Annette. But it's very good that she made her apology to her and became friends with her. She deserved to do so to her after everything they went through (and obviously did have it coming to her when Jet fought her), and I enjoyed how everyone performed and celebrated with her.

This was favorite MMC serial. I first saw it in the mid ‘70s when the MMC was syndicated again. I have “Annette” on DVD.

I remember watching this every night during my first summer home from college. Sure was fun watching all the old-school Disney stuff in the wee hours of the morning. That's all gone now. I haven't watched The Disney Channel in ten years, since it became another Nickelodeon(whose quality has also declined since 2000).

What an absolute treat to finally find this series. I've been looking on line for years. It was my favorite segment when I was a kid. I had no idea it had so many episodes. I remember when kids actually behaved like this manners and all. I've always had a crush on Tim Considine. My library is complete.

I was 8 years old in 1958 and I remember these serials.....they were like real dramas to me.......now here I am at 70 yo......binge watching all nineteen episodes and drinking Captain Morgan & Diet Coke.......

We all looked forward to seeing this series and Annette became a star!!

Nice to see the old MMC gang outside their usual roles and playing Hollywood fifties teens and obviously relishing the chance. I see two of my faves in Bonnie Lynn Fields and Cheryl Holdridge in non-speaking parts and the wonderful Doreen Tracey as '' Val ''. Wonderful stuff!

I was 7-years old when this series first aired. Annette now seems so mature and adult like. Were teenagers ever that polite?

I can't imagine watching it when it first aired, having to wait a whole day just to watch another 10 minutes! :P This is a very enjoyable series.

I went to high school in the 50’s. This is just how I remember it. Come to think about it, this is _exactly_ as I remember it. I even worked in that malt shoppe. That’s where I met Annette. I’m pretty sure. Either that, or I may just remember watching this show in the 70’s. Oh, well.

As a young viewer who watched the original segments after school, I was struck by all the psychological abuse Annette encountered from her peers as she attempted to ajust to her new caregivers, a new high school and her own physical development including teenage sexuality issues. These were real issues that were seldom addressed. Now of course, more than 50 years later, teenagers are faced with a lot more than what Annette face, but it did have a impact at the time. Watched all 19 episodes in a row, was a good watch. I thought Laura had it the whole time setting Annette up.

I never would have seen this except in the mid 70's, when I was a high schooler, my youngest brother watched the MMC (in syndication) almost every day after school, and I gradually came around to paying a little attention, knowing there were child stars, a few of whom became more mature stars. But I still didn't know that much about them-- even about Annette. So now, in my 50's, I consider this as something like a priceless piece of 20th century Americana, an innocent era only a few years before America would change permanently-- in some ways for the better, but certainly not positively in every way. I guess I've never told that little brother of mine that Annette's career and her later MS would have been news items that meant nothing to me if not for his watching the show in the afternoons. This serial may be "Disney-esque", where everything works out, but I like to think of what would have happened further. Probably nobody has written a fanfic about the Old South High class of '60 25th or 50th, have they? Since I've written many fanfics before, I might think about it. But I don't know where to post it.

Laura, seated at the piano, is played by Roberta Shore, who was best known as Betsy on "The Virginian." Shore was singing professionally when was 10. Jet (blonde ponytail, standing) is played by Judy Nugent. Nugent didn't have a good singing voice. Somebody else sang her part, and it was dubbed in. The short girl who speaks her part is Sharon Baird, the best dancer of the Mousketeers

I re-watched the entire series (having seen it when originally aired!). My favorite actor was Judy Nugent playing Jet. Judy had star power and truly made the play work. I found the music A-1 and enjoyed the re-creations of 50's teen get togethers...a much better time. Thank you for this!

When ever I get tried of today's world of politics, I find peace and serenity watching the Annette serials. Although I wasn't born in the 50's damn!!! What an era what great Television shows Walt Disney created, beautiful Annette and the gang, I watched in the mid 70's after school couldn't get enough of the M.M.C. Walt Disney must be rolling in his grave to see how the left has destroyed his creation along with his woke great Grand daughter. Love that I could come back here and get that good feeling again.

Sharon Baird is as tall standing up as Roberta Shore is sitting down. I saw her in an 80s Gallagher HBO special - she looked the same, and not much taller.

I just ordered and received the DVDs for the Mickey Mouse club from Disney club on line.

I don't think this could have been made in this age of identity politics and PC culture. The fun and innocents in kids has vanished like a wisp of ancient incense, an aroma that lingered all the way through to my viewing this series today. I don't believe kids even have real parties anymore, not co-ed anyway. That kind of social education is long gone and that makes me quite sad today.

The Disney Channel used to show episodes of the original Mickey Mouse Club late at night (in the Vault of Disney or something like that)--and I would try and stay up to watch them, but only caught a few episodes here and there. I don't suppose you have Spin and Marty or The Hardy Boys as well? In either case, thank you again.

I found it much more like real life than different. My daughter and granddaughter thinks it funny we wore dresses, skirts and hose to school.

Bear in mind this show was an idealized tv version of teenagers. I’m 73 and can tell you not all teens were this well dressed and polite. It bothers me that people today are basing their historical vision of the 50’s and 60’s on exaggerated television show depictions. My mother certainly never cleaned house in pearls and heels. 😂
