Shit, now it totally makes sense she gets an internship at the FBI at the end of the series. Sociopaths are always drawn to jobs in law enforcement. Also, this makes the kiss with Jeff at the end of the series less sweet knowing she probably faked or felt nothing and was playing a mind game for Jeff again, only for his benefit this time...

All the characters are messed up. Abed is always forgivven for his behavior because he's abed, but he legit planned to cut Jeff's arm off. Abed needs psychiatric help. Troy obviously has undiagnosed bipolar. Shirley resorts to physical violence as her second option and I wouldn't be surprised if she beatt Andre and her kids. @armleg Жыл бұрын
Honestly, as a former overachiever, I think the psychology here is a lot less complex than people are making it out to be: Annie built her identity around perfection. She fell short of her goal by getting addicted to Adderall and landing herself in community college, and it sent her into survival mode -- she was facing her greatest fear. She just wanted a chance to redeem herself at Greendale, and when her peers kept undermining her efforts, she became gradually more controlling of them and convinced herself it was for their own good, not just hers.

If I'm right, that's what's known as the Halo effect. Basically, you associate beauty with virtue and ugliness with evil. Since Annie has a pretty face, is a hard worker, smart and driven, this helps you to gloss over the fact that she constantly whines to get her way, throws people under the bus when they don't measure up and probably without knowing, uses the young, dumb kid act to avoid suspicion. Compared to someone like Pierce who despite having the same behavior gets noticed since he's old, flagrantly racist, and his mind games aren't so subtle

@@lauralol6511 They're not "exactly" the same person. They're a cosmic paradox. It's first hinted at during the episode where Abed was helping Frankie as her assistant through Abed mentioned more than once how much the IT lady, Deborah Chambers, knew about Frankie's schedule. The massive clue that Dan Harmon (show runner) put in is when Frankie stated that she tried contacting Deborah through e-mail but every time she tried, her e-mails were bounced back to her in Aramaic (which is the language the bible was originally written in) and, whenever she tried calling her on the phone, there'd be an undulating high-pitched frequency sound on the phone receiver that made her nose bleed. It's basically an H.P. Lovecraft-type horror situation that Harmon created in the show where both Frankie & Deborah, played by the same actress, constitutes a Lovecraftian space-time paradox: Two separate instances of the same entity existing in one universe with different lives that can never directly interact with one another without the universe itself trying to stop them or, in the case of the phone call, potentially killing them.
