Annie Lennox recalled the song's promo in a blog promoting The Annie Lennox Collection: "When I was about to make the video with Sophie Muller I was seven months pregnant, so for that reason I came up with the idea of finding look-alikes to represent some of my different 'personas,' so I wouldn't exhaust myself by having to perform the entire thing by myself. We held this audition that was probably one of the most surreal experiences of my life. Sophie and I were in the darkness of a theatre, while people queued up to present their version of what they thought could be a potential 'Annie Lennox' performance. It was the maddest thing. 2022, and i still mesmerized by her style, power and greatness!! I remember the impact this video had in me, by the time i first saw it- and the revolution that caused in my thoughts! A pregnant woman that could not be stopped, an icon who won't let aside her motherhood, a mother who still a very sexy and powerful woman, an amazing artist with an amazing outfit that keep me inspired till this days, since then. I had a lot tho thank to her; she changed my world, so i could change other women world's too! This video, this music, is very, very, really very special to me! Eternal gratitude, dear Annie💕💓

Just love the the way the video has been played and with such a tongue in cheek approach, by Annie. I'm sure she had a great laugh with all her own previous video characters. Very clever. Great sense of humour too from a formidable artiste.

Annie never EVER fails to amaze me with both her lyrics, her art, her voice. The music tells one story…. The video tells another, but somehow they are different but the same…. All the versions of herself, her life in music…. And in the end she’s in a plain black ensemble, saying, I have been all these, and now, I will fly away like the little bird. No matter who we HAVE been…. We can STILL be someone different. Thank you Annie for your art. Your craft. Your talent and your love x

The singing, the music, the costumes, the make-up, the, the facial expressions, the orchestral arrangement, and the choreography are all brilliantly executed, plus this is an excellent song (probably the very best of Annie Lennox's solo career and one of the best of her entire career)!!! Having versions of herself which appeared in previous music videos (both from her solo career and from when her Eurythmics years) featured in this video guves it an extra special touch and takes her fans on a journey through her rich musical career. This is a truly stellar performance!!!

Still listening to this in 2021. Annie Lennox is a great artist and singer. They don't make music like they used to before. This is innate creativity, artistic talent, musical taste, a fine example of showmanship, a gift to us all.
