I've really had my eye on this game for a while now. The only reason I'm not rushing out to get it is that I mostly play with my sister only, and I feel like this game is more fun with at least three players so for each industry there is someone who cannot build it and there is a lot more trading going on. But I might well get it anyway... eventually, when it comes out in English. Great video as always! Miss full playthroughs more than most with this one, but I imagine it would be a lot of work so I can't begrudge it too much.

I haven't played it at 2, but I've heard it's just as good. You still have to spend a whole turn taking those industry tiles so apparently it's often better to just trade with your one opponent instead of investing in your own.

I don't think it's actually available yet, as of August 2, USA so you couldn't rush out except to pre-order, just saying. It looks interesting to me also, just tired of waiting for stuff in development or on pre-order so this one is going to wait! I hope we all find it worth the wait! Happy gaming!

Thanks for making this video, it really helped to get an overview of the game. The game looked cluttered in the beginning but after you played few rounds it started to make more sense. I still don't know if this one is for me, though. In general I seem to have some difficulties to perceive what's going on on the board when there are lots of different small tiles and colours. However I like the idea of interaction with other players in this one. P.S. at 55:14 that seems to be desert fox :) They have big ears to help dissipating heat from their body. Arctic foxes would have small ears to help conserving the heat instead.

When the blue cube that is used in the coal is upgraded to red... once you want to return it to use it again, do you have to pay 2 or 3 gold? I mean when it was used it was used as blue but then it was upgraded, so dont know if you have to pay 3 gold to get it back and use it in another industry...

You pay gold depending on the color it currently is. So if you upgraded a blue to a red and want to return the red you'll need to pay gold as if it is red. I'm glad you found this video useful :)

How long does this game take to set up/put back? It looks like it could take a while.
@JonGetsGames
@JonGetsGames 3 жыл бұрын
It took a while to setup by myself, probably 10minutes of stacking tiles? That'd be far faster with even one other person helping though.

What happens if you draw 4 new world cards but none of them show the good you need for your cards? How are you able to finish the game? Second question is, can the game end of you have played a cards but not activated them all? For example could you end the game by playing a card that would give you new cubes if you activated them, but choose not too?
@JonGetsGames
@JonGetsGames 3 жыл бұрын
I suppose you could get very unlucky and find yourself in a situation where you keep drawing new world tiles that don't give the good you need. In that case it's unlikely you'd be the one to end the game, but very likely someone else won't have that issue and they'd end the game. Ending the game is beneficial, but not necessary for winning. Also I've never seen a game where anyone took a 3rd new world tile and our games have never gone on too long. They usually last about 90 minutes. Regarding your other question, you just have to play them to trigger the end of the game. You don't have to activate them. I played a 3vp card late in a game recently that gave 2 green cubes and I decided to not activate it since I didn't want to draw more cards.
@monkeyunit4533
@monkeyunit4533 2 жыл бұрын
You can always take an action to put card on bottom of the deck and draw new ones as well. Very unlikely you keep drawing cards you can't complete. If I understood correctly the left resource is always raw cotton and the other 2 are random from a pool of 5. There is probably 1 tile with each combination. I have seen a playthrough where they took 2 tiles, and picked instead of taking 1 blind, which seems like a good way to prevent this problem as well.

This game reminds me of a streamlined version of Brass, without the board. I guess it makes sense because it is by the same designer! :-) BTW, I was wondering whether this plays solo?

Uggg. As a long time viewer I have say that not finishing game playthroughs has been the a most frustrating trend to watch. I'm not sure if I missed a Q&A bit, or newsletter where you explained why and I'm sure there's a reason but it's still massively disappointing. I felt the same way way about Beyond the Sun. I would have rather seen less videos taken to completion than spreading yourself too thin and cutting off games early on. The videos are still great but now I'm back to hoping one of the other few high quality channels goes through an entire game. Before you Play is the only other one I rate as highly as this channel and I hope they do a video.

I announced and discussed it last August, you can see that specific part here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qaekp6eJv9OtkoU.html . For example, it likely would have added ~9 hours to this Anno 1800 project to film all the way to the end. That's an entire new video I could make in that time and I also actively dreaded and disliked the extended playthrough part because it usually felt like an exhausting marathon. I figured this game in particular would leave people wishing I'd finished it, but I simply don't have the time or patience to pull it off like I used to.
