This melancholic and romantic music was written by Italian composer Stelvio Cipriani for “Anonimo Veneziano" (Italian for "Anonymous Venetian"), an award-winning 1970 Italian drama film written and directed by the Italian actor Enrico Maria Salerno in his debut as a film director. The film tells the story of the farewell between Henry, a seriously ill and dying musician, and Valeria, his ex-wife. The two, after years of separation and distance meet again in Venice and found that they still love each other; but it is too late to go back and take a different course in their lives. It is a story of love and death that could not find a better place than the beautiful and melancholic Venice, which with all its beauty and its past glory is slowly sinking in the waters.
