Historically, it has always been either on the edge of empires or a buffer zone between prominent regions. Its development has always been ignored. During last 20 years, the story has reversed. Now the state is reviving hockey, hosting football world cup, attracting foreign investment and growing at a fast speed.

I am Marathi from Maharashtra originally and I have grown up in Odisha for four generations and we were born here and Odisha is so good, so good that it is not only praise but can you call it the pride of India. And the history of Sri Lanka is also from Odisha Kalinga Bang and moreover Sinhala language is similar to Odia Bengali and I know and have read Sinhala, it is completely similar to Odia. You didn't mention few things: 1. We had our own kings. The part of history where we were subordinate to other kingdoms is shorter. 2. Odisha has great culture and history. Once it was the pioneer of marine trade. People travelled across seas to trade with Indonesia and others. Our culture greatly impacted theirs. 3. the revenge of the Ashokan battle. Our legendary Odia king Kharavela took revenge against Ashoka and took Mauryan empire into ruins.

I think odisha is underrated because we have stable government, we have natural resources, we have our own language, own God, low controversy, low Hindu vs Muslim conflict, we have good University, job opportunities are available , small amount of people were visiting other state for job. Main reason i think we don't want publicity. We have everything rich culture best food, water (mahanadi) also .

Odisha coastal region is almost developed. But western odisha is still remains underdeveloped. Also odisha's 20% population belong to tribal(adibasi) people it's difficult for government to get them developed. Bcz they are not ready to come out of poverty ❤❤❤❤ 2nd reason after 2000 we stopped giving vote to congress that's our biggest achievement

Staying outside odisha, I have felt and experienced people generally have stereotypical thoughts about odisha based on past things and its limited coverage on national media. Although we had problems in many areas in past but things have started improving and doing good on many parameters under this government. Hoping for more better Odisha in days to come..

KBK shouldn't be considered into the hunger belt even now. The situation in these regions has changed a lot. Tourism in Odisha is largely concentrated in and around Bhubaneswar-Puri belt which needs to be distributed in western and Southern Odisha which are rich in scenic waterfall and mountain peaks.

I worked there as a civil engineer, I had to return home everyday after 13hrs shift. Believe me guys i saw people cleaning streets at 11:30PM night. I was shocked. Its so fcking clean, Best people, best climate, best environment, no hate for others and many more. I just love bhubaneswar ❤, i hope i will return there soon... But still guys Rosogolla is ours (Bengal)😂

No, It's Berhampur/Brahmapur. It was under Madras Presidency during British time. Merged into Odisha in 1936 b/c 95% population speaks Odia here, so are other areas of Vizagpatnam, Ganjam and Koraput areas.

Thank you for bringing Odisha to limelight. While the data says about the growth and all positive aspects, in reality only the wealthier is getting more wealthiest and poor is still poor. Although few industries have arrived to boost the economy by providing jobs etc, still Odisha needs IT reform where we need more IT industries and Tech parks like Bangalore, Gurgaon and Hyderabad. Hope our government is working towards it. Tourism sector needs lot of improvement. Corruption still exists which can be completely waived off via a strong leader.

Odisha has seen a lot of development in the IT field, in fact it's the IT capital of East India. We have EY, Deloitte, PWC, Accenture, Capgemini, Infosys, Cognizant, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, IBM, Coforge, LTIMindtree, Happiest Minds,Chubb, High Radius, Black Knight and many more MNCs operating from Bhubaneswar now, just that people aren't aware.

I'm from Malkangiri which is the end point of Odisha it's come after Koraput from where telengana Andrapradesh start and yeah i know this place is under devloped but now it's fastly developing and I'm proud to it and it's a peaceful place and low crime rate area and I'm happy i live here
