Thank you Alexandra. Where to start - all my favourites have been out and about. Queen Margrethe is so talented - just amazing. The Emperor and Empress of Japan looked so happy to be on tour. Wonderful to see Princess Charlotte enjoying herself at the concert - happy birthday to the Prince of Wales. Well done Queen Mary - she also looked like she was enjoying herself. Great to see Princess Stephanie of Monaco taking part in more royal events. 🇦🇺

Lovely to see Queen Margaerite still working as a designer. I wonder if any of her grandchildren besides Nicolai who works as a model has any artistic abilities. I do not count sport in this.Her husband Henrik was artistic.😊

Wonderful news from Luxembourg I have noticed Hereditary Grand Duke Guillem has been quite involved in his country's events, soon his father will appoint him Grand Duke for now congratulations on his appointment as Lieutenant Representant. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa looked so happy, bless her heart. Retired Queen Margrethe is having the time of her life, she is so talented too! Love to see Queen Mary of Denmark hosting the annual Marathon Song what fun to sing along. Congratulations to Prince William on his 42nd birthday. He and kids look very happy. What a treat to attend a Taylor Swift Concert. Congratulations to all the Recruit Graduation young people, all dressed so nice and proper (except Stephanie) great four new entrance to the Palace Carabiner made it 👏👏 Hope the Emperor and Empress of Japan have a great visit to the UK. Take care Alexandra be happy.

I'm glad that Emperor Noruhito and Empress Masako of Japan made it to England. Masako had on a light blue dress suit with a white hat, white heels, and pearl necklace. I love this outfit so much! It's so elegant, chic, and ladylike. Queen Mary of Denmark has on a golden yellow maxi dress with white lilies when she host the marathon song. I like the dress, It's beautiful but she should save that for fall. Grand Duchess Maria Theresa of Luxemburg wore a mauve pink maxi dress with a one shoulder cape during National day. This dress is beautiful I can't believe she finally had a good outfit. Good job Maria Theresa! Plus Grand Duke Henri looked amazing in her military uniform. Princess Maria Carolina of Bourbon Two Sicilies looked beautiful the first time I saw her. I never paid attention to her outfits until now, she has on a pink floral dress with butterfly details. It's so cute and feminine. Happy birthday Your Highness!

The Grand-Duc is 69 not 79. It is usual that in their family they “abdicate” and enable the heir to take the throne when they are still alive and ensure smooth transmission. It is not seen as an abdication but rather a retirement for them.

Pretty much the Gd duke is abdicating next year in 2025 on his 25th anniversary of his reign. Maria Theresa has been problematic from day one.

I am sorry and do not agree with your comment on Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, I admire her and see the love she has for her husband and family. I can't say much because I do not live in Europe or Luxembourg, but I have followed the couple's news for years since they met. Give the lady a break she is lovely ♥♥♥♥♥

@@twilightpurpleglow ....She's not so lovely. Grand Duchess Maria Teresa has been accused, TWICE in four years, of abusive behavior toward the staff at the palace. There are accusations of physical abuse and throwing things at them. An entire report was issued about it called the Waringo Report. Google it.

As for the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, this doesn't come as a surprise at all, I watched his interview a few months ago when he talked about abdication, clearly it's something that will happen soon because he mentioned the date has already been decided and he's ready for the younger generation to takeover and bring in their vigour to governance. I also can't wait for more events of the Japanese Imperial Couple's state visit to the UK to unfold, state banquets and all. 😊

Thank you so much for this and for your revelations about the Grand Duke. My only hesitation is that the Hereditary Grand Duke and Duchess have such young children. This change may restrict their family time but we shall see. The same concerns were raised by QE II I believe about William assuming full time royal duties while George was so young. Seems a bit sad that parents never seem to have enough time to do the family things these days. Cheers!

Agree on the issue of Gr. Duke’s very young children but it is his duty to take over, and his father was generous paving the way with early notice served. Compare and contrast to the poor King of Norway, clearly an ill, suffering man who has a son and daughter in law who could quite capably manage - right now. His cousin Queen Margarethe got it right. Is Sweden next, now that the 50th Jubilee year was such a success?

For luxembourg based on history this move by grand duke henri was acceptable but henri only 69 and guillaume 42 Henri become grand duke age 45 and his father jean 79 all the sign of henri early abdication is beacuse the gap of age between henri and guillaume just 26 years compared to jean and henri 34 at the end the age factor made guillaume and stepanie decision to have a child only after 7 years of marriage being reasonable, excluding stepanie family history and 2025 is the year which henri will celebtare his silver jubilee hope he only abdicate after that event About king harald just keep going haakon can be regent whenever king take sick leave and its not permanent And king carl said in her speech at golden jubilee celebration that his grandfather king gustav vi devoted his life for sweden up to his 90 just a note that he will devoted his life for sweden too At least 2026 80th birthday celebration for king carl 2027 50th birthday celebration for crown princess victoria 2033 diamond jubilee for king carl, yet he only 87 while most of his uncle and other bernadotte able to live beyond age of 90

It is normal process for this family and it is not really a surprise as his son already took more responsibilities the last 3 years and even more. He talked about it in a recent interview that taking a retirement is something he was thinking about - his father did the same. The transmission for them is when the person is still alive not after dead like in UK.

Like someone said, it's Guillaume's duty to take over. There are lots of couples all over the world who both work and raise children. There's no reason Guillaume and Stephanie can't do it. When Jean took on this same position, he and Josephine-Charlotte had 5 young children and they managed to do it and raise their children. So there's no reason Guillaume and Stephanie can't do it too. It's not really that hard of a job. The Grand Duke doesn't have any actual power anymore.

I am a tad surprised the emperor of Japan wasn't greeted by a higher ranking individual upon his arrival in the UK. I think the Prince of Wales or the Princess Royal would have been more appropriate .

Mostly because the state visit not being conducted straigh away, the state visit will start from tuesday meanwhile the emperor and empress conducting private engagements

That’s because the State Visit starts on Tuesday when the Prince of Wales will greet them at their hotel and drive with them to Horseguards for the official greeting with the King.

A spot UK election was called by the PM. During this time until election is over, Te Royal Family traditionally cut all appointments that could be seen as political favouring. It was decided not to cancel this visit, however, it will be a quieter affair not to draw attention away from the political goings on in the Parliament.

I agree , it is TIME. Look how all those Belgian royal kids hug each other. Can't wait for the state dinner tiaras. Maybe the Empress will break out the Chrysanthemum tiara, that's a sweet one! Since the Japanese women don't wear colored stones, usually either diamonds or pearls I am going to go out on a limb and say Q.Camilla might do the pearl version of the Vladimir tiara OR another all diamond tiara , maybe the famous " wall of diamonds" a.k,a. the kokoshnik. I don’t think the Grand Duke will abdicate. Not if the Grand Duchess has a say. Apparently she’s very… let’s just say “spirited”. It will definitely be a surprise to me if he does abdicate. Then again, abdication seems to be common in the duchy so maybe. It will be interesting to watch it all play out. In the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms abdication is a bad word so seeing other European monarchs abdicate is truly interesting. Here it’s till the monarch takes his last breath. God save the King of course 🇬🇧😅

Australia is a realm and from here I do wish to Queen had abdicated about 15 years before she died ,giving Charles a turn in his fifties. I hope he abdicates to give William a turn in his fifties😊

@@kristinedunner988I would also prefer it if the king abdicated in the next 5 years or so. One advantage is that it’s not as sad as having to take to the throne when your parent has just died. The joy between Queen Margarethe and King Frederick was so refreshing to see. In stark contrast to the absolute sadness you could see on King Charles’s face at his ascension.

I hope all is well! 🙂💐 Regarding, The Grand Duchess, from what I understand as well she...passionate.😉 As for The Grand Duke, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't abdicate and let The Hereditary Grand Duke do all of the work until The Grand Duke passes. Or, The Grand Duke will wait to abdicate until his grandchildren, Prince Charles and Prince François, are older. Or, The Grand Duke will abdicate days after his Silver Jubilee on October 2, 2025.

I would think that he might not have been prepared to abdicate until Guillaume's two very young children are in school. But the shenanigans surrounding his wife's behavior or interpretations of same may have catapulted him to a somewhat earlier date.

Loving this video but I have to say I still can't get my head around the Two Sicilies. I know they are a branch of the Bourbon but the current family seem at odds with their kingdom. I am assuming they live elsewhere and it is purely a hereditary title with benefits, considering their other titles. Google does have limitations.

There has been no Kingdom of the Two Sicilies for more than 160 years. It was annexed into the Kingdom of Italy after the unification in 1861.

Hi, Dwayne! Regarding your question, I was referring to the allegations of mistreatment of staff in late 2022 and the infamous 44-page Waringo Report, by the former civil servant of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Jeannot Waringo. In the report, it confirmed that there was an atmosphere of fear among staff and that: "...out of a total workforce of around 110 employees, 51 individuals left their posts with the Grand Ducal Court, either through resignation or dismissal, between 2014 and 2019. This excludes those former employees who left due to retirement. To prevent more staff from leaving their jobs, Mr. Waringo proposed a better work atmosphere and improved internal communication. He added that the most important decisions concerning personnel management were found to be taken by Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess. On this point, among others, he highlighted the need to reform the functioning of Luxembourg's monarchy."
