Choosing the handdrawn style for cutscenes and the tvs was a pretty smart move cuz doing a whole resprite of peppino could probably kill a man.

The Sonic replacing Peppino and the Sonic in the UI are made by two different people, and the UI mod isn't even made with the Sonic 2 mod in mind!!!

actually you can choose how high the fps is per sprite (which in Pizza Tower's engine, GameMaker's sense, sprites can have multiple frames and unique fps).

Sonic shouldn't look panicked in the Pizza Time TV animation. He's the fastest thing alive and he knows it, so some silly little three-minute time limit is nothing to him.

I love the idea of Sonic going out of his way to save his favorite local pizzeria from getting exploded. overall, despite just replacing the sprites with Sonic 1 sprites, it does a good job at feeling complete, and the actual animations like in the intro or the TV HUD are really good!!

Judging by the artwork that IS customized, I'm willing to bet that the creator is planning on making custom sprites at some point. I mean, if NiGHTS can get that quality, surely Sonic can... I just realized the irony of my statement

The Peppino sprites and the UI sprites are made by two different people. The guy who made the UI (sunko) made it with the Advance Sonic mod in mind.

All this mod needs is a slight recoloration of the sprites and it fits in perfectly! I like to think that sonic is a real person in the pizzatower world, along with people like wario and mario.

Despite using some of Sonic's existing sprite animations. It's still insane there's a few insanely good visual mods, but you actually managed to animate the entire intro. There's always some part or parts people haven't done yet including Peppina and Olivia.

Having Sonic in this game makes too much sense! That's why they once had a parody of him in the tech demo called The Snick. They've added the Noise as a playable character later in the final game, so perhaps they could add the Snick as another add on further down the line?

ngl I feel like actually giving Sonic his own original kit (Spindash, Boost, peel out, wall jumps, only attack enemies while rolling/jumping/boosting, etc just all the things from Sonic games) would feel much cooler. The only exceptions to this would be transformations (obviously necessary) and maybe the ability to run up walls (combining wall jumps and boost could probably get over most if not all obstacles tbf). I get Peppino reskins are far easier to code though, so I wouldn't be rude enough to _expect_ something along my idea to ever be done. Only hope and state it'd be way past cool.

i do think the sprites look a bit stiff in some places, particularly the uppercut, and either some changes to timing or like 2 or 3 new sprites for in-betweens/exaggeration would go a long way. other than that this is an amazing mod and i cant wait to see it finished :] like uuhh 9/10 rn pretend the mod creator uploaded this video

Surprised they didn't use the GBA sprites instead of the Genesis ones. There are way more unique and diverse sprites for Advance 1~3 than there is for the earlier games, plus the style would fit closer.

You know, one thing would it you not taking damage in the final phase: a Super Sonic Showdown! Super Sonic cannot take damage via attacks (except Big Arms for some reason), so the HP icons would show a Super Sonic icon each that even has the quills wave up and down and even glow. You should mention this comment to Grubze so they can add this idea.
