Another Card Show Filled With Vintage Cards in Northern California

Yet another Northern California Card show, and another day surrounded with a mountain of vintage baseball cards. The amount of Vintage dealers and cards that continue to arrive at this show in Sacramento, is really pretty incredible. When going to a local card show, it's hard to have big expectations, but it's getting to the point, where it's hard not to assume you'll see some really great vintage stuff at this show. At least 4 times per year, you'll find this show at the Wyndham in Sacramento, and if you live in the area and are a vintage card collector, it's pretty much a must attend.
I make a couple of purchases at this show, but have quite a few negotiations for others that aren't finalized. I was super excited to get the deals that I got, but I was so close to landing several other deals as well.

You did real good on the Rose. I ended up picking a vg-ex of that card raw for $47. Glad to have one in my collection. Nice show, thanks for sharing.

His 1964 is a must have for me but equally as nice as his 1966 are the 1965 and 1967. Its those old Reds uniforms that does it for me.

Your narration of card shows remind me of the narration Bob Ross did while he painted. Both enjoyable, soothing meditations on your respective crafts. The joy of Painting/Collecting!

LOL. That's awesome. Bob Ross was the best. I remember eating quite a few bowls of cereals on Saturday afternoons watching Bob Ross paint. The crazy thing is, he'd always do something at some point of every painting, and i'd be like NOOOOOOO.....thinking he ruined it. But sure enough, before he was done, it was gorgeous.

Thanks for taking me to your show and there was an incredible amount of vintage. Went to the Chantilly show for the first time since moving to Northern Virginia and there was plenty of overpriced vintage also. Was a little disappointed as the hype was bigger than the show but I haven't been to a show since 2019 National. Tough to buy at these inflated prices and wish I would have sprung for a few more cards in the past that are now out of reach. .

I’ve heard so much about that Chantilly show. Bummer stuff is overpriced. I sometimes wonder how much people still sell when they’re way high on stuff.

Graig, amazing job at the card show! Love seeing the negotiations! Great job talk up the dealers, that really helps! I loved seeing the Berra you talked about in our conversation, it is very nice! I think with the right bundle, you will have it one day!

Great video and very cool to see so much vintage. At the 4 minute mark that table has some incredibly nice Mays PSA 9's from 1968 and 1972.

I picked up that 54 ford raw for twenty dollars. A couple months ago . No creases soft corners but it's for my pc, good surface.

Great show video and tons of ungraded vintage. The show here doesn’t have much. Great buys but I would have taken that Knute Rockne card, they would probably do $100 and it’s a bargain. Thanks again for your awesome channel

I’ve never seen so many Willie Mays cards at one show or even at one dealer’s table. It must still be 1849 in California because it looks like another gold rush! 😉 I love the loose slab boxes too. I picked up 10 at a show I attended last November

It's such a great show for vintage collectors. People in the area are extremely lucky to have such a great vintage local card show. Super spoiled in this area, for sure!!

That first vintage seller, Jeff, with tons of cards is 50% to 100% higher than the market! It's mind-blowing to me that he can sell a card at all. And I'm speaking specifically to the cards with high liquidity, like the 60s Mantles. As I type this, you can buy a 61 Mantle MVP on eBay for $230, he has it at $325. 1969 SGC 3 for $220, he has a 2.5 listed for $325! I cannot imagine these overpriced sellers will last much longer in the market. The more informed buyers are here now. We are on the new floor. The younger ones that are getting into vintage will never even talk to a seller like this.

Fair points. Not sure what to say, as I was simply sharing video of what was for sale. But I definitely agree that some cards are overpriced at shows. No doubt.

@@MidLifeCards It's a particular set of vintage sellers still from the "book value" era. The new market doesn't even know what "book value" was or is. Ask someone under 40 what book value is, and they might ask, "what's a book?" :D Eventually, they'll either adjust or never make a sale again.

It's really up to the promotors to recruit vintage specific dealers or not. The promotor of this show is the guy that had the Gene Sarazen and only raw vintage. Whenever he meets a vintage dealer, he always tries to recruit them to his shows.

That's a bummer. Sacramento shows and the East Bay Card show in Concord have tons of vintage. The San Francisco shows are mostly newer stuff.

If u see rollie fingers at the show ask him why does his yak packs stink n y doesnt he have a better card collection cuz those cards are from his personal collection and y u get alot of the same player in each box like 12 dave stewarts in one box
