@zmurfy420 that's cuz it is, grew up country till I was like 18, maybe 17 right before I turned 18, then I just started wanting to go see the world more than livestock and grass I guess lmao. Still love it and am back at it 10 years later, but man watching 2 go at each other just gives you this rush, even more so if they start when your tryna round them up, makes a whole big fuss and that's when it's terrifying, you never know when one decides it wants to hit on you next!

@@theyeetgod8914 Those Holstein cows are huge (the black and white ones) they average 1600-1800 pounds for females and can get to roughly 6 feet tall. I’ve grown up around beef cows and ours were 1200-1400 pounds and about 5 1/2 feet tall. I was surprised at just how big the Holsteins were when I got to see some in person last year.

We traded all our rowdy cows, including some Brahma for Angus. Calmer, didn't have to pull calves, less rodeo antics, small at birth & grow fast. After another 20 years, traded down to Dexters and couldn't be happier. All the benefits of Angus in a smaller, smarter, easier to handle package.

@bendy6626 4 ай бұрын
@@piggyslayer1999 No, but the auction prices have gone up quite a bit over the years anyway (with the usual seasonal variability). We used to figure we'd get around $500 per head for a 500# feeder calf.... recently sent a couple cull Dexter bulls, one 430#, the other 380# and cleared $1800. Those are insane prices, and makes me feel sorry for anyone having to buy meat in the future. 😕

You got to realise when you are working around stock like that you got to use your cattle yards properly if you don’t it is very dangerous. Specially when you are working around Baram and cattle I have seen them take gates off hinges and a lot of other things that you can imagine what they can do. I have worked around them for years longer than 22 years work your yards properly and you won’t get hurt

Looked like she had a calf that was 4 or 5 months old. I’ve had my share of super aggressive mothers but they usually calm down after the calf is about a month old. The aggressiveness was more likely genetic and in this case comes from the Brahman breed. From what I’ve gathered from the rest of the beef industry if you don’t need the Brahman for the heat tolerance, don’t use them. Over all they are a pretty aggressive breed plus the meat is fairly low quality.
