Glad you spoke about collectors. And while players may think they "hate" collectors, collectors actually keep meta card prices down by opening up so much stock that wouldn't be opened or printed otherwise. Yes, they have sealed product too, but overall, they help fund Ravensburger and are a healthy part of every living TCG. Think of it this way. In terms of The First Chapter, I still feel like you'd get more out of buying meta singles than you would out of a Retail booster box even if they were still at $150. Open the box you get your 4-6 legendaries that include Beast, Te Ka, Gantu, maybe a Belle, maleficent or Rapunzel too, or maybe not. You'll probably get a Stitch Rock star or AWNW who knows. But with $150 on TCGplayer you're likely to do much better still. That's why I think that a large portion of the people complaining are collectors who just never got that enchanted chase they wanted and maybe acted too slow when prices were at retail for a long enough time for everyone to purchase. They'd rather watch the world burn than not be a part of it.

One of the shops I frequent told the locals in our Discord channel about the set championship and asked who wanted to sign up. A couple days later when he had a few tickets left, he gave one last warning and posted the remaining tickets on his website. This is why I am loyal to his store now. Jason takes care of his regulars first.

Local lgs opened up store championship sign ups the same night their Lorcana league ended. All the league participants had first dibs and then later it was opened up to the public at large. Seemed a good way to do it.

My local shop gave all of it's locals a heads up that they would be announcing the store championship on discord and even if you register online your seat isn't guaranteed until you pay at the store in person. This gave all of us a chance to register and go by the store to pay and secure our seat the day it was announced. Hopefully most other stores are doing similar to make sure their local players can participate.

Instead of reprinting sets i hope they just put chase cards like dragon, beast etc into there gift sets like how ursulas raid is gonna have piglet. It will help sell extra gift sets, and help new players who missed out on staples. Also the reprint is clearly different having the ink splatter so the "og" cards will still be more valuable

The real question isn't "will first chapter get another print run?". The real question is, when they inevitably get around to doing a "core set" type reprinting will enchanteds be part of it. If they ever straight up say "enchanteds are only in their original set" then first chapter stays high regardless of an extra print run. Same goes for floodborn.

Sorry Mario. I think I heard there was a cutoff date for getting the waitlist invites. As in, you had to be on the waitlist by a certain date. (Still watching the video though.) Edit: That's a very good point, Mario. 5:10. I never thought of that. As a player, I only ever saw my side, like "why isn't there a huge circulation, cards are too expensive, 'aaaahhhhhh'." But, the thing is, I know there's another side where a lot of players from other tcg's want their cards to hold value. While I don't like that aspect, it is very true that a lot of players put a lot of good money towards getting those cards. (And worse, they spend way more on sealed product than I do, so, I have even less leverage.) But I have noticed that it seems 60+% of sales on tcg seem to be collectors. I just wanna say thanks for opening up my perspective. (Also still watching the vid.)

I am pretty sure the ATL waitlist was filled on that first Sunday. There were 2.9k people following the event when it went live. Eventually, they will sell any left over unclaimed tickets.

Collectors holding sealed product is cringe af. All they do is artificially inflate prices and make the game harder for people to get into. If the game can't reach as many people then the likelihood of it staying long term decreases, because sales for their product doesn't increase with player base. All it does is make some cards more expensive in the secondary market and the company doesn't see any of those profits. They might just do reprints because the collectors are cutting into their profits by being hoarding little goblins.

Most of my LGS let their league players sign up first a day or two in advance before making the championship tournaments public to everyone. I think stores definitely have the ability to do it this way and should do it this way, at their own discretion.
