Yes I live in the us now but I’m from a town sort of close to Saarbrücken,, and they are a very middle of the pack team in the 3. League, nothing amazing and then in the German Cup they’re kicking everyone out of it… even Karlsruhe which is MY team 😂😂😂

@@franze4 Isn't it pretty much guaranteed already? Since Leverkusen will surely qualify for Champions League, doesn't the loser of the final receive the opportunity to play Europa League?

@@omayaki5264 nah they have to win the trophy or they get nothing. 5th place is for europa league and 6th place for conference league, while the cup winner gets the second europa league spot. if the winner of the dfb pokal (or any of the major cups in europe) qualify directly to the UCL or UECL, the spots get passed down the table. 6th for UEL and 7th for UECL

French league has had more impressive runs : amateur 4th tier Calais in 2000 lost 2-1 in the final against Nantes, Quevilly in 3rd tier in 2012 lost in Final against Lyon, Les Herbiers in 2018 to lose 2-0 in final against PSG Guingamp in 2014 actually won it although they were "only" in second division If Saarbucken actually wins it then yeah they will make history, hope they do

Saarbrücken played with all the heart that Gladbach completely lacked. How do you put in such a performance when you know this is your only hope to qualify for Europe this season? And what was Seoane thinking taking out Hack and leaving Jordan who did nothing all game? Why not give the likes a Ranos a chance? Anyway, congrats to Saarbrücken who fully deserved it. Just imagine a third tier team playing in the final at Berlin. They couldn't have imagine that in their wildest dreams.

Unbelievable run they're on. Beating 3 Bundesliga teams including Bayern as a mid table club in the 3rd tier. Absolutely unbelievable. But in reality, it's Leverkusen's to lose. No Bundesliga teams left in the competition. They couldn't have asked for a better field in the Semi Finals. But imagine if that's the Final and Saabrucken somehow win... would be one of the biggest upsets in history.

What surprises me the most is how deadly their counters are, seconds after a steal they already pass the ball to the front players and with great positioning every one of them could take the ball and score. Absolutely brilliant run and I'm hoping they get the title, they surely deserve it.

this is such sweet revenge for Saarbrucken after reaching the semi final in 2020 but having to play that home game without fans due to the just started Covid-19 pandemic and just think about the fact that we will see a semi final between a 2. bundesliga team and a 3. bundesliga team because good old Kaiserslautern made it into the semis as well
