A 'carry', where the ball stays on the racquet for a prolongued period or is hit more than once. In this instance, it looks a bit dodgy but it can be quite hard to tell. Very rarely seen them called anymore and I wonder if it should go the way of tennis, where I think a carry is legal as long as its part of a continuous motion/swing (i.e. the carry is accidental and not deliberate). Not much point having a rule that referees don't ever arbitrate on.

⁠@@simonpatterson793that last sentence could go for the foot fault rule which is hardly ever picked up on especially at a club or even county level. But not having it could also cause problems…

​@simonpatterson793 try it yourself. We have experimental games like this at our club now ant then. Our experience is that it provides much advantage to the server and for good servers weak returners it leads to almost immediate runaway wins for the server
