One of only 52 moonstone blue rs500s ever built .
This matching numbers low miles / low owner car has been part of a collection of 10 rs500s owned by the same owner .
Sadly due to I’ll health the collection has been sold and this ( his favourite rs500 ) is the last of them to be offered for sale .

Stunning piece of history and worth every penny. I was lucky enough to drive one of these which belonged to a friend in 1994 when I was just 20 years old!!! A very special moment!

My uncle had this colour back in the 80s. Coming home from school and seeing it on our drive, I absolutely loved it.

Back then they were in group 20 insurance along with Rolls Royce and Ferrari's etc. One guy got quoted insurance on an Escort Cosworth that was more than the cost of the new car! What they were suggesting is, you can't possibly own one and have it parked on the street without it getting stolen, it's a 100% certainty.

@@bumfluffmcregor3730 nah 100% moonstone for 3dr... 2 good mates have moonstone 3drs here in same city as Adam.. 1 car is how it was when he got it way back when i was 14.. unrestored standatd power etc not 100% as is but a well loved n used car

Top guy Paul for helping him out. Beautiful car and a shame I can’t afford it. I’d need to sell my 3dr and both kidneys etc etc. hope you get good money for him and Gary’s health improves. Think I met him years ago at a show, good bloke

Slightly unrelated fact, but I own an '88 Fox body Ford Mustang 5.0GT. The gas rams on the hatch wouldn't keep it open and it kept coming down and hitting me on the head. I had a Sierra hatch at the same time, and on measuring up the Sierra struts were only about 20mm shorter and had the same fittings. Went to a local breakers and got a pair off a scrap Sierra for £5. I imagine trying to buy a genuine new pair from the States would have cost a fortune. They're still on the car 14 years years later and are working fine. Found other European Ford bits in breakers that fitted on the Mustang. Small stuff like battery restraining straps, switchgear, etc. - Improvise, adapt & overcome.

The ultimate hot hatch would sella kidney for one.. I had a magenta 4×4 sapphire cossie back in the 90's so wish I was able to keep it but always wanted a 3dr cossie. lottery win then my dream will come true 👍

They seem to always be for sale for saying there's "very few" around. I tried to find a Subaru Legacy RS 1995 but couldn't at all that must be a rare car. Its in the game Dirt 2.0 and I realised its my favourite AWD car to use.
