Very good reaction again. I like this channel a lot. Don't feel pressured to read this I know it's a lot. It's here for whoever is interested. Also I don't know what other people meant by telling you Light Novel did not have Rudy's brother coming to talk to him? Yes the overall execution of the anime was different but it covered the same material. It included a lot of the same thought processes and resolve. Rudy absolutely goes over what his brother said to him and all of that. It's very similar to the anime. I think the biggest differences is that in the Light Novel it's just Rudy's thoughts. It's not overly dramatic. You do not get placed within like a visual. Like Rudy does not like hear his own voice when he knocks on Norns door. Or see like an illusion of himself or his old room etc. It's not written like as "I opened the door I was startled... I saw myself in my former room etc." Nothing like that. But absolutely Rudy reflects upon all of the same things and how to approach this. Same with Norn. Now in the Light Novel you only follow one point of view character at the same time. You can't have Rudy's inner thoughts and then Norns right after. It has to be separated by a chapter. In a way the previous episode 17 did that too in the anime but they also contextualized it and kind of made it into one event. And put more focus on it on absorbing us into it. They trimmed some context out of it but gave us something the Light Novel really could not give us. And that's true for the Light Novel too. It does things the anime can't either. The Light Novel went into more depth at least in terms of Rudy thinking about this problem and solution. But it's mostly Norn's side of things that lack a little bit in the anime but it's not a complaint. Fair bit left out on Norns thought process and reflection. But at the same time the anime nailed it. I feared the anime would drop the ball here as the animes biggest weakness is having to cut context as well as not being able to include a characters thought process in it's entirety. The animes option of going all in and visualizing it though Rudy's past trauma and memories more than made up for anything they may have "missed." Here is why they both win. 1. The Light Novel wins because you get so much more thought process and learn more about both Rudy and Norn in these scenes. Norn especially. It goes deeper! And I found it to be an absolute pleasure to read. Very emotional and I felt like I was really in 10 year old Norns mind as you unravel though her thoughts and her life up to this point. As she reflects back on everything not to different from the anime but it's written so well. Like she was a real person. 2. The Anime wins because I think visually it hit home even more. At least on the Rudy side. It combines the dynamic of the situation and is very well paced. It was an excellent decision to show us instead of tell us. Paint Rudy's thoughts as a flash back. Almost more than a mere flash back. Almost like hes trapped being forced to re-process those events in a new light. At the same time as Norn has to reprocess her feelings too. The Light Novel gives you what you need to make those connections. And most people make them. But it comes across a little different it's hard to explain. But the anime almost gives it even more focus. Yes you sacrifice a bit of context for this kind of approach and pacing. But like they say sometimes less can be more.

No worries, i dont mind the comments. I like to get insight from the readers and see how well the anime is getting adapted. I just interpreted everyone’s comments as the anime showed Rudy and his brother talking and the LN just went over Rudy recalling it in his head. Thanks for clearing that up though. Yeah there’s a channel, that i forget the name of currently, that goes over the skipped content of each new episode. So i try to watch those after recording so that im not out of the loop. I know they kind of have to cut content but im glad they did a good job at portraying both Rudy and Norn’s pov because otherwise i wouldve continued disliking norn Anime did a pretty good job at making Norn seem like a 3 dimensional complex character in my opinion. But i am jealous that the LN went deeper into her psyche because i do enjoy experiencing a character’s thought process.

@@PaperRhino I promise to keep this one shorter. (May have lied.) I have series I watch where I don't immediately or ever read the Light Novel etc. I do the same as you. Now you have to be a tad bit careful about "skipped" content. I guess you interpreted the the comments properly I more or less misunderstood. lol Yes the Light Novel will usually always be better overall at least to me. But the anime more than did those scenes justice. I was shocked I did not expect them to go that route. I think it hit home more just how big these events were for Rudy. In the future if you give the Light Novels a go great. If not so far I still consider the anime more than good enough. It's fantastic. Not everyone has time or likes to read etc. Like you said watching missed context is nice. But be a little careful. Sometimes stories elements are just rearranged. Like the Eris Goblin Slayer OVA. I thought they skipped that entirely. So did most people. Comments about the missed content. Only for it to be an OVA later. lol Now I kind of know what to look for to spot something deliberately like rearranged. There should be a season 2 OVA that covers between two episodes or in the middle of an existing episode of season 2. But we kind of saw though it and most people did not rant or make comments like oh here is missed context. We all expect an OVA now because they actually included a character from the skipped content. The OVA is going to go back and focus on them. (I hope!) Or it will be a season 3 flash back not an OVA.
