This happy woofer is Cochise! Cochise is an upper mid content wolfdog who loves belly rubs! Despite a rough start, he is one of the sweetest, goofiest animals around.
Cochise is one of our friendliest animals. He always greets people with an enormous, slobbery kiss (and occasionally a nibble or two on the nose). Unfortunately, he doesn't quite realize his size and strength, and that enthusiasm can end up being quite dangerous. He was brought to the sanctuary when his owners felt they couldn't handle him anymore. He now lives with Spruce, a low/no content wolfdog, and is as happy as can be. He is able to run around his large enclosure, rough house, dig, and play all day. Having an appropriate outlet for his energy has made Cochise a much happier and healthier animal, and a blast to hang out with.

Dogs weren't made for us, neither did their multiple breeds came on its own, we have selectively reproduced them throughout the ages, tens of thousands of years of human and dog cooperation had changed their genes and turned them into what they are today, a species that exists to serve us humans. Hybrids between and domestic animals give you pretty much what you expect... something that is somewhat tolerant towards humans, but is better off suited living outdoors and wild. While suuuuuper cute here, wolf dogs are very difficult to take care of. Same goes for cat hybrids such as savannah cats (domestic x serval). There’s a lot of wild animal shelters that take care of hybrid pets that owners couldn’t handle or keep. Imagine this big good doggo in this video tearing apart all your furniture because it’s lonely and you didn’t walk it three times today. Didn’t mean to rain your parade, but please don’t get a wolf dog, or any half-wild hybrid for that matter. They’re too suited for the wild to be happy living in your cozy home.

If you want to work with wolfdogs I would suggest thoroughly researching canine behavior than talking to several people who have handled wolfdogs. If you still want to work with them, you should be able to do so at a rescue or sanctuary like this one.

Marta Cekic you need to be really excepting of what they do. As puppies they're just like a dog but as they mature and their hormones are released they become more as a pack animal and the relationship between you and the wolf needs to remain stable and trustful. There's more to wolfs than dogs. Dogs will love you no matter what. Wolfs can turn on you and kill you. I feel wolfs should not be kept If they are going to be kept in a cage like that but if you ever have the chance to hunt with a wolf it is a beautiful experience but lots of learning and bonding is needed before that can happen.

Had a German Shepherd wolf hybrid when I was born.....he was and still I'd the best dog I ever had the privilege or calling my friend. I used to have seizures as a child. I had one in the yard and MY Chance howled and barked till my dad-who worked over nights and was tending to my younger brothers at the time- came out and seen what was going on. If they don't have a collar you didn't tame them, to tame them you give them bones from skeletons Wich you can found in the night. Be careful the skeletons, they a have pretty accurate targeting with their bows. When you make your wolf's sit they can't move, you need to make them stand for them to move.

Most dangerous dogs are far stronger than wolves because they have been bred to be strong enough to fight wolves and win when outnumbered. If wolves where that big they would not find enough food and starve. The chances of a fit adult human man killing a wolf while staying alive in a 1 v 1 are not low. The strength of humans is not to be underestimated. The problem is its never gona be a 1 v 1 IRL, at the very least its gona be a 2 v 1, at which point one wolf can keep you occupied and the other bites you in vital parts of your body, chances of wining a 2 v 1 are low.

You wouldn´t make it out without a scratch, one of your arms would be full of bite marks for sure but if you got enough balls you can bear hug and just slam the shit out of the wolf against a tree or a rock or the ground while it´s biting your arm, it´s not gonna tear your limb clean off, it´ll bite down to the bone and you´ll need a doctor to fix your arm afterwards but I´d say the human wins most of the time. If the human pussies out and panics when they get their arm bit, then they will get fucked up, but if they get fucking pissed and fight back with everything they have, I´d say the human wins most of the time

Get the two legs and hold them while trying to rip them off which is very hard to do but even if attempted the wolf would probably run away. Please don't attempt this unless life and death situation.

Mandie John do you know how many wolf dogs are put down or given to sanctuaries like this one because of idiots like you who want to buy them then realising that they are horrible pets so you put them in a shelter and then they are euthanised because wolf dogs are more wolf than dog and as cool as they look they are still wild animals and should treated like so.

It's important for people to know that any form of animal care, or ownership, is a huge responsibility that is very difficult to uphold, especially when dealing with wild animals. However, you didn't have to be so harsh with a younger person's innocent question my Dude. All you had to say was that wolves usually don't thrive in domestic care and that they are illegal to own in most states. its not a breed its a mistake made by man to domesticate the wolf with out having the wild behaviour but what it created was a confused animal more prone to attacking and than a normal wolf demonising a breed is saying the pitbull is a dangerous dog but its the owner the is to to blame for the attacks wolf dogs are 70% wild and attack out of instinct not out of bad behaviour or confusion

Brings memories of my Blue. His grandad was (one of) the wolves in the movie, Dances with Wolves. His favorite weather was about -15 with blowing snow. He would play as a puppy even tho he was near ten and literally sleep in snowdrifts. Shedding season began in January and ended beginning of winter.
