Video fails to address "Seal-only" functionality? Video fails to address accessory hose compatibility option(s) in order to seal externally.

If you want to just use the bag sealing function you'll still need the chamber to have vacuum. Since the heating strips only works when the silicon bar on the lid is firmly pressed against it. If you skip the vacuuming step, the heating strip will simply burn the bag instead of sealing. The way I do this is just have the bag hang on the outside, and only insert the mouth of the bag into the chamber. Let it vacuum for about 15 seconds to generate enough pressure on the lid to press against the heating bar, then I press the down arrow to skip to the sealing step, then it will seal properly.

@@DejectedCat You don't need to hang the bag outside. Just use the arrows turn the vacuum time down to "10."

wondering if anyone has used this until for extended periods of time. We purchase a half cow, pig and butcher our own chickens. Our current Foodsaver model (high end) quits properly sealing before we are even half way through the pig let alone the cow. Wondering if this would be a better option for longer use.

You need a commercial size unit for continuous use. Those units have an oil cooled/lubricated vacuum pump and are designed for doing what your doing. Those types of units typically cost between $800 and $1200 for one sized for home use. Well worth the price considering the value of what your preserving. I had the same issue with processing game and fish using an edge sealer, moved up to a commercial unit and have had no issue since.

I’ve read that I can use my Food Saver rolls but how do you cut the bag from the roll and then seal the edge before filling the bag?
@mgourley12342 жыл бұрын
Use the Food Saver to seal the "bottom" edge and then use the "pouch" in the Anova.
@convincedquaker Жыл бұрын
Hang it outside of the unit to seal the first edge.

This machine looks like it is made by the same manufacturer of the Avid Armor except the displays are different. The bag clips are exactly the same. The narrator of this video is annoying.
