It was a sad day when Winnebago bought Country Coach. I wonder what's for sale now, everything they bought, just the buildings, or the intellectual property. Who knows what could happen, would it be a company that would be competition with Newell? If the only way they could come back was to cut corners like manufacturers do today, I personally would rather see CC just fade away with their quality intact and on top. Truth in advertising, I'm a CC owner and admit to being prejudiced.

That was special.... I’m working for a company who sold a facility full of history and in less than 10 years... the place will be empty and new owners will be tearing down to the ground... Sitting here in my 06 Inspire seeing the building it comes from brought joy to my heart and then I hear Winnebago threw away molds for the cap's for coaches 2000 and older. Good grief Winnebago. Brian go for the KZfaq channel

so let me try some math - and a BIG YES to Brian on the YT channel! - 14 coaches/week times 52/weeks is 728 coaches per year - and if you averaged out the price those coaches sold for, some will be more than others, some less, but let's say they averaged $300k - that means yearly sales of $300k X 728 coaches = $218,400,000/year - there's money to be made in this industry, especially if you have a great reputation, that's what these numbers tell me.

OK there should be three shims behind the fly wheel seal and there’s also a metal shim that goes over the dowel pins and fits in where the fly wheel would normally have an O-ring on a late model I deal in Play should be between 4 to 7 Thousands

As Winnebago has all the buildings and intellectual rights, I purpose we all pool our funds and purchase all from Winnebago for .10 on the dollar, and restart County Coach which is still the best chassis and coach in the business.

Brian: Do it. I lost my CC to a Norcold fire. I would like to get another CC, but can no longer easily afford expensive repairs that might not be necessary. So, I would be most interested in knowing how to troubleshoot, do simple repairs, make equipment work in a CC. I would want to see the manufacturing and equipment differences in the various years and models. Not that I would be the one doing all the repairs or fixing things in a coach, but I would want to know how everything works and what to look for that's wrong. When someone says a problem will take $15K to fix, I would want to know that is exactly what is necessary and not just throwing more money away. Do it.

Big bunk overcab for me to sleep when I get a chance to go. 1.5 baths, cali king bed, 3 TV, 1 being outside. It's now their full time home.

Man, this video breaks my heart, Country Coach was on my radar when I was looking to buy but went with Tiffin due to it's manufacturing facility being within reasonable distance to me. I was hoping with Winnebago buying their facilities that they would revive the Country Coach and have instant success if they kept the quality they were known for. It is sad to see that they are abandoning that project, hopefully another manufacture will see the potential they have and buy it. You can tell by watching your videos, those that worked for Country Coach are proud and passionate about them.

As I recall, Winnebago announced they were moving their diesel production to that Oregon facility. A friend of mine purchased a ‘16 Grand Tour and brought to that facility twice for warranty work. According to him, he was told they were unable to find enough qualified workers to staff the production facility and that’s why they left.

Sheila Raskin I guess you didn’t read my entire post? They tried to build coaches in that facility in Oregon and it didn’t work out so they moved that operation back to Forest City in 2019.
@1982MCI
@1982MCI 4 жыл бұрын
I really don’t believe that. You could easily train enough staff for the production facility if needed. I’ve been down that road before in a manufacturing facility and you always have tons of applicants wanting a good job for decent pay that can be trained to do anything, there’s more to the story than we are being told and probly will never know unfortunately
@Recycled1
@Recycled1 4 жыл бұрын
@@1982MCI I agree there's more to it than that. Winnebago said they had not, "achieved our targeted operation efficiency and profitability goals." My friend was told they couldn't find large enough pool of people that weren't on drugs. whatever the reason, they closed the facility and moved back to Forest City.
@wendyjowray3499

They were staffed plenty! Unfortunately, Winnebago didn't train their JC administrative & management staff on how Winnebago operates. As a result, the people who were there to start the JC campus were working how they knew to work .... like all of the other coach manufacturers who have come & gone from this area! So, no, they didn't achieve their goals in JC! It was primarily because of the company, not to be put on the shoulders of the locals!
