Ansel Adams is a great phothographer and teacher. It is healing to go back to nature like Ansel did. We should have the time to do this. The photographs show us the work of a kind and gentle man. We will always remember this great man. It is his personality making his pictures great.

He is in my opinion one of the greatest if not the greatest photographers of all time. You can clearly see his genius in the iconic photo of them together with the glimmer in her eye. Talk about a decisive moment..

So nice to learn more about Ansel Adams from someone who really knew him; I greatly admire his photography. I love Georgia O'Keeffe and loved seeing the great image of her with that look in her eyes; I don't think it's even in her Santa Fe museum or else I would have purchased it! Wonderful interview.

My father was also a photographer. I learned from him about the zone system and dodging and burning. Both is important to get a good print. Often my father took a wet print in a tray out of the house to see it in daylight. He used it hands to process the prints from one tray to the next. I have seen Ansel Adams also used his hands to process the large prints. My father sometimes rubbed a small area of the print with his finger to warm up the paper developer to get more details out. I have not seen Ansel Adams to do this. The know how of this is all important to make outstanding prints. I wrote in another comment that my father and I like Ansel Adams a lot and he is our kind teacher.

I like the video, but the part where the lady says that Ansel did not take photographs but make them, sound good. However, saying that unlike Dorothea Lang, he did that is not accurate or nice, and it shows that there is more than professional comment on that. Dorothea Lang was the master in composing photographs and with deeper meaning and messaging. A different style than Ansel. So, bringing here to the comment is not professional. It is apple vs oranges.
