Your story is so inspiring!!!!! I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, and PTSD for ten+ years after beating cancer, having a mom with addiction, and moving across the country for college as well. I got officially diagnosed my freshman year of college when I was kicked out of UCSD due to academic disqualification because my mom attempted suicide the week of finals. I thought my life was over and I had lost everything- the school I worked my whole life to get into was gone, I was in a city alone with NO money, no apt, and no assistance. I could have easily quit, moved back home, and continued to spiral..... maybe it was the self awareness knowing why I was feeling the way I was feeling but I kept pushing. I’m not saying it was perfect and I figured it all out after because it was far from that. I thankfully met my (now fiancé) a short time after that dark spot and he lifted me out of darkness and supported me unconditionally. Five years later we are happily engaged, I’m still going to therapy (3 years strong!!), have two amazing fur babies, and was blessed enough to survive this pandemic healthy, happy (as I could be), and financially safe. I AM BLESSED and so are you. Thank you for shining light on so many issues and being an inspiration to so many! Love you Whit!!!!!

Also, what if the person is having fertility issues? Now you’re just asking hurtful/upsetting questions without even meaning to. She told me she would love to have some, but cannot 🥺 I thought I was being friendly in a moment where we were chit chatting, and I also love to talk about my own kiddo. I've been married for 5 years now and I totally get the "selfish" thing. Like, I want to get up and have a cup of coffee in peace right now. I don't want to get up and have to change a diaper and get a baby dressed and then have 5 minutes to get myself ready, if I'm lucky before I need to run out the door. Right now is the time to be selfish and just focus on you and your relationship. I've told my husband and family that once I'm 30 then I'll consider trying to start a family.

Same! I think it’s hard for people to understand how that kind of thing can shake you to your core and even cause an identity crisis. It’s taken me years to trust my own judgement & figure out who I am again but like you said you end up a better and stronger version of yourself ♥️ you just have to do the work. I love how many times she mentioned being self aware in this video because I really do think that’s so important when recovering from abuse.

Because of you I’ve learned that you can’t please everyone and to love myself. After doing so, I have not looked back without caring about others opinions. Asking someone when they’re having kids is such a rude and invasive question. Why does that concern people? You don’t know what someone may be going through or what their desires are. Mind your business 😒
