See at our company it's simple, if the feature test proves better for conversions then we add it for our clients as a platform improvement. Most of what we test is directly suggested by our clients and then ABC tested against our current implementation.

@@femkedesign yeah that makes total sense for a company like uber but we have over a 1000 clients who all sell online, so cro is always going to be our end goal

Thank you for the insight! Last year I was a notetaker in a research, I think that was the point where I decided I would like to do UX instead of business analysis. One thing I can confirm, it is really tiring :) We did this from 9 Am to 8 PM and after I went to my room and slept until the morning :) I think the volume of information and processing it makes it so tiring.

How much of this process did you learn on the job or did you learn when you got to Uber?

Oooo definitely checking out that book!! Thanks so much for sharing a bit more about your research process. Do you have a particular format/structure that you like to follow when testing? Seems like you kinda hinted at getting to know the participant at the beginning. I guess what I am getting at is what kind of artifacts, if any, tend to get produced from these user testing sessions. What bits of these materials do you find most effective in your work?

Hi Femke, how much user research skills/experience would a junior designer trying to land their 1st general UX role need to know? is having those research chops as important as "hard" skills like wireframing/prototyping for landing general ux/product designer positions?
