it's not any problem about geomery but when i'm on the mesh time , details of mesh do not include relevance center option and it is automaticly choosing structural steel . How can i fix all the differences.

I am doing transient heat analysis of a simplified body ( three different bodies attached together ). There is one constant temp. surface at 1300 Celsius and on opposite side, forced and free convection at different location. But after doing analysis for different time steps and mesh size, i am always getting some negative temperature in the body. Can anyone tell me why ?? Even i have defined initial temperature as 40 degree Celsius.

In geometry what is the distance between each circle and how it is taken?

great video, have a question what if the fins were made of copper or some other metal (have to use slice option to get two body's and to define that). What do you have to do to get accurate analysis couse ansys automatic setting compensate it and i get wrong results at the end. This is a great video!!! Helped me a lot !!!

Yes, you can make the fins made of copper in the ansys. In design modeler when you are extruding the fins, extrude as freeze option, then you will get two different bodies fins and base. Go to material library, add two material which ever you need. In set up window assign the material to different bodies. Don't forget to define the type of contact between the fins and base.

Is there a way in ANSYS to define the ambient temperature as the temperature like 500mm away from the fins? Because in real situation temperature of air near the fin is different from that of the ambient temperature.

Ansys takes care of this if you are defining convective heat transfer and always use right value of convective heat transfer coefficient for best results.

***** Thanks a lot. But one more question. If I want to add a heat source at part of the surface, like the cpu is with a 10*10 area, in the center of 5*5 area there is heat generated constantly. How should I do it? I tried by drawing it at Geometry step, but error happened when I do the following steps.
@Teachkart

You can generate a plane ( by making area of 5*5 in the centre and use imprint surface feature in design modeler). Then you can define heat source or flux (heat/ (5*5)) in that area. This tutorial might be useful for you. ANSYS: Thermal analysis of DISC BRAKE

***** Sorry but another question similar to the last one. What if it becomes a body problem? Just similar to the last question, but it's a body of 10*10*2 and the center of 5*5*2 is generating heat. Should I need to set two different extrudes to form the body to define internal heat generation for the center 5*5*2 part? I tried to build 2 extrudes but errors kept occurring.

how its become steady state analysis as you can play the animation of the analysis which is nothing but showing the picture of the temperature profile at different time value, then how its steady state analysis?
@Teachkart
@Teachkart 10 жыл бұрын
Jatin: The animation is just showing how the temperature is reached from initial state to final state (steady). Here time is representing the duration of animation. In this tutorial every boundary condition is constant (not changing with time), so its a steady state analysis. For transient analysis visit : www.teachkart.com/ANSYS/transient-analysis/analysis-of-bridge.html where force is changing with time.
