Does this fatigue analysis account for the range of frequencies the part is subjected to? For instance, would a 100 Hz have a different fatigue life than 1000 Hz? Or is the # of life cycles independent of frequency.

Brilliant video! A quick question, If i was to conduct a real life experiment of this fatigue loading. Would i be able to just use the material specimen. Or would I have to manufacture a connecting rod. Then undergo fatigue loading to get identical results as the simulated ones
@drmseif
@drmseif Жыл бұрын
First, I would like to thank you for the comment. To answer your question, you don't have to manufacture a connecting rod as long as you are paying attention to all the boundary conditions. All the current commercial FE software will give you accurate results.

Hello really thank you for your video, it really helped, i have a question , when we say 1 million cycle, we mean 1 million cycle to the fatigue, or it is 1 million cycle of fatigue life and if it's that the case, what happens after fatigue life, please help me with this question

Is it possible to carry out fatigue testing similar to this with carbon fibre in Ansys please? Im struggling as there is no S N curve for carbon in Ansys.

Hello, I am a mechanical engineer, and I wanted to thank you for your KZfaq channel which is an anthology of digital simulation. I am contacting you because I have a question regarding a feature of Ansys Workench, more specifically, the static calculation. In particular, I would like to know if it is possible to define a load (force or pressure) which depends on both x and y, a function with several spatial variables f(x,y) or f(x,y,z). And if you've ever made a video about it, I'd be interested in viewing it. Regards

Can we calculate if a life of a component is more than 1 million?
@drmseif
@drmseif 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you don't need to calculate the life of the component once you passed 1 million cycles. In this situation, the part is considered safe. In your analysis, you are depending on the material data of the S-N curve, which will be given by the engineering data (or you provide it).

1 million cycles and more is generally considered to be within the 'Infinite Life Regime' in design applications. This is the region at which parts are assumed to never fail. (unless in very high frequency applications).
