Antarctica is remote and inhospitable, yet one of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. Only by icebreaker can we reach the continent and Southern Ocean’s stormy isolated islands. Seals, Emperor penguins, seabirds and numerous other animals live and breed here, defying the life-threatening environment of the vast ice desert.

One of the best documentary in KZfaq...to see, to feel and to imagine so closely the details of extraordinary natural phenomenon at the farthest southern end of the Earth. So unbelievable that in these harshest conditions the creatures like penguins and seals could survive! One thing was missing everything about the birth, infancy, childhood and adulthood of a penguin is disclosed except its natural death and old age.... love and regards from Punjab, North India....❤😊

Экстремальные условия и ни с чем не сравнимая красота, которая иногда дополняется поразительным полярным сиянием, делают Антарктиду похожей на неземные миры. Вся антарктическая флора и фауна находится под защитой международных законов. К тому же отсутствие хищников на суше и обилие морской пищи делают побережье Антарктиды в летнее время раем для фауны. Действительно Создатель творящий чудеса. В Библии написано: "Как многочисленны твои дела, Господи! Во всём видна твоя мудрость. Земля полна твоих творений. В море, великом и необъятном, нет числа живым существам, малым и большим" (Псалом 104:24-25).

So fascinating to know that this penguins are monogamous meaning they choose only one to mate or a partner.

Some species are only serially monogamous meaning they get a new mate in a new season. Emperor penguins often get a new mate each year and scientists think it’s because it’s often hard for them to find last year’s mate, because they move around a lot and there’s so many emperor penguins. Gentoo, Royal and Chinstrap penguins do usually mate for life though so some could be considered monogamous. They also sometimes mate with other birds before settling down for the season, or when their mate is late they sometimes get a new mate and then when the original mate gets back she’s not happy and the females fight like a soap opera penguin love triangle. So it’s not always as cute, fully monogamous and drama free as many documentaries claim:)

Hermosos paisajes, me recuerda mucho cuándo yo estuve en Ushuaia Argentina 🇦🇷, en 1982 abordo de un barco crucero de bandera Italiana 🇮🇹, de la compañía Costa Line, el barco se llamaba Federico C, también en bahía Garibaldi, ahí se ven grandes montañas de nieve, en Ushuaia yo estuve comprando en una tienda que se llamaba el viejo lobo, no sé qué pasó con esa tienda, ahí compré un pergamino de navegación con mí nombre por 2 dólares de Estados Unidos, bonito documental, muchos éxitos desde Nueva York Estados Unidos 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️👍🌍.

Tierra del Fuego ( which is a huge Island, and belongs to Chile and to Argentina) can not be the last part of the American continent, because it is an Island! The southern most continental city is Punta Arenas ( in Chile) because is the last city of the American continent .

Susan Tackenberg is one of my favorite narrators. She does another one with Marco Polo films about the Andes. Did anyone else see the seal running from the icebreaker? It's at the time 51.41 in the film.
