As fun as this video is, Its important to remember that these musicians are not necessarily bad, as some people here seem to believe. They are just from countries that have a completely different musical traditions than we have in the west. All of these national anthems are based in 12 tone equal temperament(octave split up into 12 equal parts), which western classical music has been based in since the 18th C. (many national anthems are based in 12tet but that's a whole other thing) Many people from Europe and the US may believe that this is a universal basis for music, but it is not. Many countries use completely different divisions of pitch, meaning playing these songs on these instruments may not be easy or natural for them . If you gave a musician trained in the western classical tradition an Oud and asked them to play a traditional Saudi tune you would get a similarly cacophonous result.
