Yes!! We just got permission to show you new stuff from The isle, Herrera is now available on the stress testing branch and the Embargo has lifted, I think this new creature is going to hit live servers soon, Here's what i experienced while playing!!

The Herrera was an exceptionally fun experience, It's still fairly iffy around the edges right now but they have some time to polish things before they are thrown into your hands, There were some bugs that just genuinely surprised me. Mainly because they lifted the Embargo with the present but i'm guessing they are trying to push forward faster to release this stuff before the holidays

Ok I have a question does the hereta takes less damage when you do like what squirrels do like put themselves flat enough to negates some of the damage or is it a feature in the game already

Would be cool if the Herrerasaurus had the ability to pull carcasses up into trees like a leopard, Keep them up there as to try and avoid other predators stealing its food.

I think it'll be about the same honestly, Herrera thrives on it's ability to climb trees, Sanct's dont really have many inside them BUT i for sure see them ambushing creatures coming out of them from trees surrounding LOL

@@Anthomnia Sanctuaries are full of those low winding trees that are designed to protect from big predators... if Herrera can just climb around them, while fresh spawns need to bob and weave through them, that makes Sanctuary the perfect place for them to ambush fresh spawns.

Herrera was ALWAYS my favorite in Legacy cus it was perfect for trolling as the fastest dino in the game heh. It was the only true scavenger in the whole game cus it couldn't do any damage, but nothing could ever catch it, save for a few seconds of Utah ambush speed. So fun to bully Spinos into a corner as Herreras

If you enjoyed Herrera in Legacy, You'll love it in Evrima. It's surprisingly fun but not at all representative of what we experienced with the legacy herrera. It feels more grounded if that makes sense?

@@Anthomnia Yeah it seems to fall into the sorta game plan the Pteranodon has where it's pretty removed from interacting with players by hanging out in in a totally safe place all the time. Maybe occasionally pouncing something small that happens by. Because if you tried to play the run and snatch scavenging strat from Legacy seems like you'll just be killed with everything being faster than you.

That throat-flap display us going to be AMAZING for players to silently coordinate with each other, especially friends that can develop an actual "language" with it (i.e. Morse code)

I do think that due to herrera not taking stam to climb and generally being able to escape from predators with trees its going to become the new ptera. Due to how bad pteras stam is now it can no longer risk flying or really doing any amount of travel besides walking unless you have a full +stam diet and are sitting every few minutes. With herrera being able to not waste stam climbing from place to place (Besides the jumping, it seems actual climbing doesnt take stam?) and its ability to grab onto something if you start to fall ill for sure be recommending this as a "starter" dino (Ptera used to be the one I would recommend to new players because of its fast grow time + speed and survivability)

I think it would be better if the herra had a dedicated climbing stance button that you can either hold or set to toggle. It would make climbing into a far more controlled experience and reduce the fear of falling Lol.

I'm so excited to play Herrera and all but I hope it's speed gets buffed some. Not the absolute speed demon it was in legacy of course, I just think swapping it's speed out for tree climbing is a pretty unfair trade considering the shitty stamina barely allows you to utilize them.

The only correction I want to make to this video is you said "irrational fear of heights" That isn't an irrational fear, irrational fears are fears of things that aren't dangerous. like teddies. Heights are dangerous, it's rational dw no one is judging you for having that. Also when you fell at the beginning the fact the dino spread out is very telling of the fact it climbs, I'm guessing it'll take one hell of a fall to kill it outright.

I Think it makes playing as Pteranodon way more scary and intressting with this little guys.. Because now you can land on higher ground lay down and have nothing to fear at all but with this little suckers you have to play way more careful and watch arround.. And its a realy intresstin crature to play with i think..

I’ve just had an intriguing thought. The developers have expressed their reluctance to place food on tree branches, as it could inconvenience other dinosaurs. However, what if we introduced a new mechanic following the implementation of the ‘food on branches’ feature? This additional mechanic could allow certain types of dinosaurs to stand upright and shake the tree, depending on its size, causing the food to fall. We could potentially limit dinosaurs like Herreras, and others with climbing abilities, to only hoist food up smaller trees that can be shaken. What do you think?

I do at times wonder how much of the stuff we see in the videos is the game being buggy and not just Anthomnia F***ing up. Right now I'm leaning towards 30% buggy, 70% F-up.
