Even infected survivors are being absorbed into this flesh beast creating the biggest mass of organic matter yet in Subnautica (Aside of the Gargantuan Leviathan. Wonder what'd happen if it absorbed one of those?)

It seems causing wide-spread infection to create a hive-mind was not the only goal for the Plague Heart. It's been secretly collecting biological material under our nose this whole time forming these giant flesh blobs and it's clear it's using infected creatures, Leviathans and even the crew to feed them. Why though? What does it stand to benefit by creating these and feeding them? Are they just giant flesh incubators for something far larger and worse to come?

Well you see, if infecting a single organism won't let you out of the shield, then you have to bake a leviathan form so massive, it can breach out the shield. Or destroy the nexus creating the shield.

Go to his Channel. You can find the red plague videos in order from the videos tab. You can also create your own, unofficial playlist, which I would highly recommend doing. You can even make it public thus solving the issue for everyone.

this mod is so good at being legitimately scary. Regular subnautica creates a sense of unease, especially if you have thalassophobia, and the mod developer(s) did a great job using that unease as the basis for creating terror. I had to scroll down to the comments a few times because it was getting too tense for me 🤣

Huge tip, you can use multiple o2 tanks by just filling them all (refilling your o2 while wearing o2 tank) and swap between them to get more oxygen

Isn't the silence leviathan from an entirely different mod so it shouldn't be affected by the plague and the plague barrier shouldn't stop it

Yeah but the plane and the flying seamoth are from other unrelated mods aswell. My guess is that they asked the creators of these other mods for permission and then implemented them into the red plague mod. As to why it could penetrate the barrier, i think that was a bug and subsequentially the cause of his framerate issues afterwards.

Here’s a funny bit of story that some may not know, but “the regular” is a reference to the Alterra HQ voicelog when you get the captains quarters code. The guys were voiced by Appsro and Neebs from Neebs Gaming.

Subnautica meets The Thing. That's basically what's going on here. Though I think the Silence got through the shield because it's a separate mod maybe? Potential mod conflict? Like the Silence mod allows it to follow you after a certain point. Red Plague infects everything so it infects the Silence? Except it seems to have take then that into account. So...possibly still some glitchy disconnect between the two. Or it's supposed to breach the barrier because the barrier may be causing the issue? No idea. Be fun to find out, but I don't mind waiting on each video either. Especially as the previous one gave you some health issues.

im thinking that the barrier is being overwritten. We know that the Plague can infect inorganic objects and life. We saw, even for just a brief second, that the shield generator was covered in infected biomass in like episode one. Or, going with Anthomnia's theory, the Heart decided that the Silence was powerful enough to give it some type of electromagnetic disruptor organ that pokes a hole in the *Ion* Barrier. Similar to the Crabsquids EMP organ.

@@Anthomnia A while back, I had a surge of bravery, best both games, AND killed all the Hostile Leviathans in below zero, and i agree, once you know the things, they become more of a annoyance rather then scary monster...despite that, never going to the void, only times I have ever been it in were due to bugs

Not trying to be rude, so sorry if i come off as it, but your model gets ROYALLY messed up when you go anywhere near the Plague Heart and the surrounding area. And i think that the different model is permanent, considering that dying doesn't remove it (although that could also be due to the fact that techinically dying is non-canon, and what would be the horror in being able to be infinitely recreated by a machine that's... not immune to being faulty... oh.)

You should see the other episodes. His character and even his equipment get royaly messed up from being too close to the plague heart or being in the area it occupies for too long. It doesn't seem to have any story or gameplay effect and seems to reset after a while. As by the next episode if not within the same one he and his equipment are back to normal. Maybe it resets when you exit the game?
