Joshua was on absolute top shape in the 2nd fight vs Usyk too irrespective of what Eddie Hearn or Ben Davison has to say. It just goes to show the top notch level that Usyk operates at.

Actually he wasn't, AJ had all the tools to beat Usyk, he just didn't get going and looked gun shy the whole time. He wasn't fighting to the best of his abilities and listening to his coaches. That's around the time AJ was switching trainers after every fight because he lost a but of himself after the Ruiz loss, he became more aware he could lose, and fought to not lose rather than win. Wasn't until his last 2 performances that he's gotten over whatever mental block he's had.

I mean this is what should happen when a guy who has had one pro fight as a boxer turns up and fights against a top level two time former unified heavyweight champion who's motivated and dangerous in a boxing match and himself carries big power. Joshua didn't even look to celebrate afterwards because in his mind probably it's what he expected to do because he's turned up ready to go and treat Ngannou like he was a novice in there. Francis has done amazing in his career from where he started to where he is now and he deserves all the respect in the world for that but tonight he got took out by a dangerous sharp Anthony Joshua who's active and has momentum right now not a Tyson fury whos turned up a year out the ring looking like shit.

People who I work with, who are just casual fans, thought AJ was gonna get knocked out. Which I thought was insane. I told them, "Do not take the fury fight a point of reference of Francis skill level." The reply I got was, "AJ got knocked out by a short fat guy." They wouldn't listen to the fact Tyson didn't train and obviously underestimated Francis. And yes he always had a punchers chance. But even in the UFC, Francis had very limited stand up skill. Power, yes, technical hand skill no. How anyone thought he could win that fight absolutely baffled me. Fair play, he got paid, but he either has to box low-level fighters or go back to MMA. AJ vs Tyson really needs to fight each other soon, before it's too late.

How much do you think he made? Reports are 10 mill for fury and 20 for this one, with basic accounting he'd walk away with about half if he's lucky with trainers, promoters, managers and taxes. 15 mill for a fighter is a lot easier to blow through than you think, especially when Francis was shown to have expensive taste in thing even when he was in the ufc, before he was even champion.

The average american earns 1-2 million in their lifetime. So he's made 7.5 lifetimes of money. If he's responsible with it, he has enough to pass on. If he has bad spending habits, then not even lottery winners can survive bad spending habits.
@gilbertoflores7397
@gilbertoflores7397 2 ай бұрын
@@knobjob2839 how is this not like him winning the lotto? Most fighters/athletes aren't smart with their money, they spend like they think they'll continue to make money like that all the time. There is only like a handful of boxer who haven't pissed it all away. Francis was said to be overly generous with his money for his team, and he's been shown to have expensive taste even before becoming champion in the ufc. Hopefully he does make it work. But it won't be surprising if he blow it away being too generous with all the people in his life and charity work in his home country that are going to come asking for a handout after knowing he's made a huge amount of money.

@@utkarsh2746 doesn't mean he isn't going to pay US federal tax of about 37%. If there was taxes in Saudi, he'd get even less, if he doesn't live in Vegas, then he'd have to pay state income tax too. If you go with the nonsense of him not being American, he'd still have to pay taxes in a higher rate of 38.5% in his home country. He has to pay taxes, the government wants their cut, and since he lives in the US more than half the year, he's going to pay US taxes, that's if you don't account for the "jock taxes" of needing to pay even more when you earn income from different places outside of your resident state from some sort of sporting career, it was designed to squeeze the dumb jocks a little more for making so much doing sports.

Excellent analysis of everyone mentioned. Real knowledgable and objective assessment. I think that is a classic case of be careful what you wish for. Ngannou chased after AJ even after AJ said he didn’t want to fight him. Ngannou thought he’d be easier than Fury because of the perceived mental fragility and possible chin problems. The dissects that Ngannou showed AJ was deserving of a ko. Dude switches stances with only two pro fights and no amateur experience. Who does that? The Wilder fight is an excellent shout. Someone is going to sleep and neither can box. I think Ngannou and Wilder are closer skillwise. It’s a shame that Wilder is now essentially damaged goods. I’d have loved for Ngannou to get to wilder first. What a story that’d have been. It’s still an amazing feat if he were to beat him. Especially if he knocked h8m out. But had he fought him fresh out of the ufc as heavyweight champion and wilder was still the lineal champion when they were talking about it back in the day and Ngannou were to KO wilder. That’d have been Hollywood for real. Zhang vs Parker and Zhang vs Joyce and Parker vs Joyce are perfect examples of styles making fights. Joyce was made for Zhang and Zhang for Parker and Parker for Joyce.

Francis as he deserves has been applauded and praised for backing himself to be where he had arrived at until the bell went yesterday The normal person will never know what it's like to stand toe to toe with these giants,I'm sure Francis when the fight was over and he had a minute to himself thought, well that wasn't bad. Last night that's AJ's job,as Francis is looking directly into AJ's eyes and obviously was just hoping to have a few seconds just to feel right again but it was a punch from the Gods,as Francis has his hands up then sees the punch coming,begins to move his head to the right but was not quick enough and AJ had a huge target and found the perfect Right hand KO which will be played for years to come Weill done Anthony

Hearn knows a Fury/AJ fight would be the biggest match ever in the UK, they'd likely need a new stadium for that.

Regardless of who's the best boxer, AJ vs Fury is a bigger draw than AJ vs Usyk 3. Of course Hearn wants Fury to win.

Francis is going to have go outside the top 10. If he wants to stay in boxing. I can’t see him beating Parker, zhang, hrgovic, kabayel, Anderson, Sanchez, Ruiz, these guys have boxed there entire lives. Even some of the 10-15 are going to be a problem.
@hiplessboy

Maybe Francis can do a couple PFL fights, then take on a boxer who isn't in the top 10? I know it wont be for as much money, but maybe he needs to get some rounds in boxing at a regular level before he tackles the best ones.

you don't really learn boxing at his age... it's like telling an American to learn fluent Chinese in a year.... once you're in you're 30s you can pick up some, but you'll never be fluent like native speakers/lifelong boxers

If you didn’t mention the fighter names & described this knockout, no one is guessing it’s joshua who knocked out Ngannou like that. That how special this one is. I never trusted AJ to win against wilder, fury & now ngannou after seeing him fold on ruiz’s punches. Then this happened 😂
