How shitty was it when Dana tried to throw Smith under the bus immediately after his fight by claiming there was no fracture. Keep in mind White made this declaration before Smith had even had an x-ray.

I hope to see him back in the octagon in the future and to have a good recovery.He is a great fighter and good person from what I can tell from his interviews.I would like to see him get a title sometime down the road.I believe the way the UFC light heavyweight division is currently Smith will have a shot at the belt again here eventually.

I like Smith as a fighter but I had money on Ankalaev and was watching that fight like a hawk. Smith seems to think he did a lot better in that fight than he actually did imo. He needs to be smarter about owning up to his loss so he has an idea where to improve as a fighter. By acting like Ankalaev just got lucky or something he learns nothing and he will remain baffled up until he ends up as a commentator full time. Which btw is good for him and I actually like him on commentary so I'm happy he has that going for him long term and I wish him the best with that and his fighting career as well.

It's painful to listen to guys who lost be in complete denial. I know why they do it, but I agree, the only way you can improve and get better is to acknowledge your weaknesses. The best athletes ever (MJ, Kobe, Manning, etc...) are usually the most self-critical and harder on themselves than anyone else.

I agree with your assessment. Even when he reminisces about the Jones loss he actually believes that he did a lot better than reality. He got destroyed every minute of that fight and the way he speaks about it makes it seem like it was competitive. The fact that he just kept taking leg kicks without adjusting or trying to take him to the ground was very surprising.
@joshnagel8819

@@liamweinberg4902Unbelievable that after the Jones fight, Smith said he thought he competed well and “it’s not like he got embarrassed out there.” Everyone watching was embarrassed for him… that was a pathetic effort and yet Smith just loves to bash opponents even after they’ve wrecked him.

These leg excuses are getting way out of hand. They are constantly throwing kicks in practice and in the Octagon now its so popular that fighters are a lot smarter to check and some fighters throw the leg kick a lot more since they have seen the success from the leg kicks. Also when you throw a kick and step back if you step wrong you have a chance your leg gets injured. Just because your leg breaks now its like your oppentants win doesnt count now. Smith said he was gonna gonna show Ankalev a actual fight but he didnt do anything even before the leg. Ankalev is getting looked over because his timid personality, he is champion fighter but the UFC might not want that now . They want the milk Jiri exciting fight style as much as they can first. I see Jiri vs Blavaich and Ankalev vs glover. Smith is a great fighter, but honestly he needs to hang them up. He has a huge losing record, and he will just remain a gate keeper in the division. He has the desk job, podcast and a brain intact. Id hate to see him fall down the road of pride. i see it already with the excuses, its obvious watch the fight ankalev checked so many kicks and kicked him plenty of times.

This bozo🤡🤡🤡 always makes excuses and never gives his opponents credit for beating him lol idk it amazes me how many people thought he was gonna win the fight and be a champion but people who know about fighting can see he was not gonna win that fight

I really like Anthony Smith, but he’s probably the most delusional guy I heard when it comes to speaking about his own skills, abilities & fights. Great analyst when it comes to others fights, but really overrates himself all the time. He has himself in the same league as Jon Jones.

Anthony's a tough man, but stick to fighting would be robbers, and podcasting. He's definitely set a new record for the most excuses in the UFC and somehow has not been cut.

He should have taken the DQ win against Jon since Jon always fights dirty and cheats, so why expect something better in return???

@@jatsi1467 Lol, no. What do you think Jon would have done if Anthony had beaten him for several rounds and then kneed him in the face like that? Knowing who Jon is, he would have taken the DQ win. There's no bigger man nonsense when somebody fights Jon since Jon doesn't care about all of that and always cheats anyway and does everything he can to win... Taking a DQ win is only positive since you get the belt, new better contract, more money, PPV points and who cares what the fans think anyway... The knee Jon threw was worse than what Yan threw at Sterling since Jon is a heavyweight.... People have a short memory, Sterling taking a DQ win will be forgotten soon... Most people don't even remember that Anthony was kneed in the face like that, and he should have taken a DQ win since he is loved by the fans unlike Sterling who had fired Matt Serra by that point, was becoming weird and did so much acting when he got kneed...
