You know, I’ve never stopped watching Buffy either. It’s like several times a year I can just pop in a season and get right into it. I’ve done it since I got the series on dvd and haven’t stopped. @@dttruman Facts. I had no idea Marsters wasn't British. I happened to see him on Hollywood Squares and when they called on him and I heard his real accent, my mind was blown. He's amazing.

@@dttruman Well, yeah. I mean, that’s the nature of accents in media; no matter how bad it may be it’s going to fool some people, specifically the ones who don’t know what they’re hearing. Do a South African accent for me and I’ll accept it, since I only have a general idea what it’s supposed to sound like. For me personally, Spike’s accent was always like nails on a chalkboard.

I've been rewatching the series after nearly twenty years since last watching it, and I had the good fortune of completely forgetting about that moment. When I saw it again in that episode, I clapped and cheered quite loudly in my living room. My neighbors probably thought I was watching a sporting event. 😄

According to cannon Giles dies in Season 8 the "Last Gleaming, Part IV", but I would forgive a retcon that allows him to survive, if it meant that I could see him on the screen again, played by this magnificent actor. Edit: Apparently, Giles is resurrected in Season 9, so Giles on TV again is a go. Let's make it happen!

He's already been a baddy in Doctor Who.... He said it was is childhood dream to appear in Doctor Who and he was proud he got to be the lead bad guy in the episode.

He really is. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a convention in Detroit 15 years ago (!) and he was such a sweetheart. I was going through some rather emotional things at the time (I'd lost my uncle the week before) and while I was talking to him after his concert I started to cry. He set his drink down and pulled me into a hug. He just held me and told me to "forget all these people and take care of you." I'll never forget that.

I was 15, when I first watched Buffy from begining to end. Earlier I've seen 1-4 seasons, but till 2008 no one bothered to stream the whole series. Anyway, now I'm almost 28, but there's no greater show for me! And I've seen quite a lot.

eh, if the new show is in continuity with the old one (which seemed to be what they were trying to do), then there's no reason to bring back any sort of council. they should have a slayer organization that's active all around the world, and the show should be about a new slayer who doesn't really get along with the other slayers at first, but they give her some rope to take care of her own town her own way as long as she doesn't pull a faith and go evil.
