Europe is missing thousands of #bus and #coach drivers, even though it’s suffering from high youth unemployment. And the shortage is forecasted to get much worse in the coming years if no action is taken.
Anthony Roquet was able to become a professional coach driver when he was 20. But a lot of young people in Europe can’t do that.
The minimum driving age ranges between 18 and 24 in Europe. It needs to be harmonised at 18.
Young people should also be able to start their training at 17, so they can begin driving professionally at 18. Many young people look to start their careers as soon as they finish school.
Young drivers like Anthony Roquet are as safe as the general commercial driver population. There is no reason to exclude them from the profession.
