Not enjoying the moment but rather spending too much attention to taking photos and fiddling around with camera settings. So lately been just using phone. And it is great. Even better when the all kinds of internet connections are turned off ;)

So true about mid-day. Acadia National Park is swarmed with people in any nice month. From late morning to evening, it's mobbed. But at sunrise? Only place that is packed is Cadillac Mtn. But everywhere else in the park, you can get some amazing photos and no one is there...

These tips are so valid! A corrupt sd card is the worst thing that can happen glad you were able to get it sorted out.

Gotta back that last point there! A tiny bit more effort to get to a location means a significantly smaller number of people there.

I find it helps to really go out and get yourself lost, and you'll just find the nices photo spots with no one around. I use to cruise and after a few under our belts, we found we had the best time renting a car at each port to do exactly this. I prefer dumping my pics onto a laptop. I would do an entire day of shooting, and would empty my card before going to bed. I use to travel with a Canon RebelXT and T3, so no redundant memory card but I never had this issue.

Thats great! We booked local tour guides at each of our stops because we also wanted the history. Wandering and getting lost is a great way to stumble upon great photos!

Spend money on larger cards. And don't format them until close to full. Your cards will last longer and have less chance of corruption

@@AnthonyGugliotta it definitely depends on use case. If you do a ton of video, cards will get filled up quickly. But I do mostly stills and just keep them filling up. There is a lot of interesting info on storage tech.
